A year ago I remember ringing in the new year feeling so blessed and happy - then eight months pregnant and about to become a very proud “single mom by choice”... Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined what was to come in the next 12 months... Yes, this was the terrible year of Covid, but it was also a year that was full of life and magic. In January I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy Aldar. In February I met the love of my life, Steinar Bjarki. March was spent falling in love (partially thanks to Covid, as we had so much free time to spend together!). By April I had met my new family - new in-laws and my two wonderful step children Vilhelm and Rebekka. In May we officially started referring to Steinar as Aldars “dad”, which was a beautiful and special moment I will never forget. In June we hosted Aldar’s naming ceremony as a family with all our loved ones (perfect covid timing!). We enjoyed a bit of sunshine and short trips in July, as well as we celebrated lots of birthdays, and Aldar got his first tooth! August saw more local trips, as well as I was knee deep in pre-production on my upcoming TV project. In September we celebrated Vilhelm’s confirmation, and we also moved to Grundafjörður in the west of Iceland where I began filming my TV series “Fractures”. October was an exhausting month of directing, as was November - that is until Covid shut us down for a few weeks. In November Steinar surprised me by asking me to marry him (of course I said yes!). And finally by December we had moved in together back in Reykjavik, and filming started up again on Fractures (I directed 55 days this year!)... They say that 2020 was the worst year in history - but I have to disagree that it was all bad! I have been so blessed in this very crazy year of 2020... May the adventure continue! ... let’s see what 2021 has in store 🥳

Back in 2003 I went to the Young Vic theater London to see Vesturport take on Shakespeare Romeo & Juliet. Later I did enjoy doing portraits of the cast while they were still in character and custom backstage at Borgarleikhúsið. This is @saradoggin in her role as Lady Capulet backstage only few minutes after the curtains fall. #vesturport #saradögg #theater #youngvic #youngvictheater #borgarleikhúsið #shakespeare #romeoandjuliet #jonatan #phaseone #phaseonephoto #profoto #profotoglobal #profotousa #captureonepro #jonatangretarsson #portrait #portraitphotography #visualart #actor #thegreattalentsoftheworld @youngvictheatre @borgarleikhusid Custom: @totalisa
