Pictured: a post-exhibition viewing discussion. This summer we had the opportunity to take a few field trips to explore the art community within Toronto. We travelled to different galleries and artists studios, or had some individuals visit us at @kontort_events to have a chat. Here are some photos of what we saw and who’s brains we had the opportunity to pick! (Notice anyone familiar? 😉) Galleries we visited:
AGO, Mercer Union, Daniel Faria and more //

‘To Deflower a Princess’
www.sarafleiszig.com ‘To Deflower a Princess’ explores the connection between female youth and the so called idea of innocence lost. Does one really grow up after losing their virginity or do we simply just go on living.

Sara Fleiszig is an experimental fine art photographer focusing on the relationship between femininity and liquidity. Tactile engagement and organic processes are deeply important to her work as they allow for a more intimate connection between the viewer and her images. Constantly exploring and experimenting with different liquids and soaking methods she has specifically taken an interest in female bodily fluids such as, blood, sweat, urine, and tears. Recently a graduate of Sheridans Bachelor of Photography program she is currently based in Toronto, Ontario. Sara enjoys a good nutella stuffed crepe.

Blood, sweat, tears...and urine. Sara is an experimental fine art photographer. Also known as “the girl who soaks her prints” She’s also just a really down to earth girl with a pretty cool outlook on what’s important and the message she wants to send. I loved talking to an old friend for this episode and hearing where her life has guided her to this point. Also Happy Women’s March, where we celebrate only female artists for the month of March! . .
