And that’s a wrap on the Frost tour of Japan (well, John and I’s leg of Japan that is).
Trip statistics as follows:
- 7/11 egg sandwiches consumed: 46
- Family arguments: 4, depends who you ask
- Mount Fuji: saw it, not a myth
- Steps taken: 220,023
- Vending machine beers consumed: Uncounted, for the best
- Hours spent finding dinner for our family’s food intolerances: 10
- “Doa ga shimarimasu” recitations: every single time Harry got in an elevator
- Times I almost shit myself on Mount Inari: once, nearly catastrophic
- Hours spent following band manager Sarah around train stations: 6 (Thankyou Sarah)
- Minutes spent listening to Dylan: 0 (record unbroken)
- Panic attacks: 4, maybe 5. Couldn’t tell yah.
- Hours of sleep lost to anxiety: idk let’s not
- Times John said he was fine and was definitely not fine: not sure, he didn’t say
- silent walks when everyone was mad but pretending not to be: two, both were me
- Times I checked John’s temperature with my hand like a Victorian mother: 9
- Times we whispered in a shrine that was probably a grave site: 7
- Times Harry definitely did not whisper: 7

Overall rating: Logistically a fucking nightmare, emotionally destabilising, and also a fucking time and a half. 10/10

Okay, but this Wedding had layers 🥞

The witness lottery earlier in the day pulled out a past groom I’d married… who also happens to be in a band… who then played at the wedding…
AND Dylan jumped up with a guitar to sing Sarah a tribute mid-reception 🎶

I mean… Who writes this stuff!? (Dylan and Sarah do)

One of those nights where the room felt warm, the dance floor was full, and everyone knew they were part of something very special 🪩
Unreal couple. Unreal day.

Just Married energy ✨

Here’s your reminder: you don’t have to stand like you’re in a formal school photo.

Dylan & Sarah kept their stance natural, slightly turned in, hands linked - and it changed everything.

No overthinking.
No stiffness.
Just two people fully present, proud to be up there choosing each other in front of their favourite humans.

When you relax your body, you relax your nervous system.
And when you relax… the whole ceremony feels better.

Calm.
Happy.
Certain.

Dylan & Sarah 🤍
The kind of couple that make this job feel easy and oh so special!

Down-to-earth, deeply in love, and surrounded by the best kind of people. Their ceremony was relaxed, heartfelt and full of those little moments that can’t be scripted, including a witness lottery that pulled out a very familiar name… a groom I had the honour of marrying last year. Such an honour to marry multiple people across friendship circles 🙌🏼

A beautiful beginning to a very beautiful marriage.
So grateful to have stood beside you both!
