• Washington Mardi Gras Day 2 •

A day full of history, leadership, and Louisiana culture! 🏛️ We began with a VIP guided tour of the U.S. Capitol and met with members of our Louisiana Congressional delegation, including a special visit with Congressman Clay Higgins. From there, we joined King Gray Stream and Queen Sarah Heebe for the King’s Luncheon at the Kennedy Center, followed by the Princess Coterie at the Library of Congress hosted by Dr. Laura Cassidy and Senator Bill Cassidy.

We ended the evening in true home-state fashion at Louisiana Live before heading to the King’s private event 🎷🎭. Nobody throws a party quite like Louisiana!

March 21st, 2026!

I had the honor of attending the 50th Anniversary Amite Oyster Festival to celebrate 2026 Oyster Queen Sarah, her royalty, and one of my favorite Louisiana commodities! We were a part of the parade in downtown Amite, introduced ourselves, watched performances by the 610 Stompers and other amazing groups, viewed a shucking demonstration, learned the history of the Amite Fire Department, and ate plenty of Louisiana chargrilled oysters! 🤭💜🦪✨

What many people don’t know is that my mom’s grandfather owned an oyster business in Dularge when she was growing up; attending this festival was so special to me because it was yet another connection to my roots and family traditions, which is what The Gumbo Festival is all about! ☺️🖤🥘✨🦪

SICILIAN PAGEANT & OYSTER PAGEANT!🍕🦪

What an exciting night watching two beautiful young ladies get crowned! Congratulations to Sarah Stant on your reign as Amite Oyster Festival Queen, and to Caidence McKinney on her reign as the Miss Sicilian Heritage Queen XVII and the beginning of her reign as the 2027 Amite Oyster Festival Queen!

To Caitlyn Muse, along with all the other contestants, y’all looked absolutely beautiful on stage. It was wonderful to see the love and passion each of you have for your rich heritage. I know y’all will all go on to do great things!

I attended the Amite Oyster Festival pageant, and it was such a special experience. Having the opportunity to reign alongside Sarah has been truly amazing. She has become such a dear friend, one I know I will carry with me throughout my life.

Watching her pour so much love and passion into her reign as Queen has been incredible. She has been an outstanding ambassador for the oyster industry, and I have no doubt she will continue to advocate and make an impact wherever she goes. I couldn’t imagine this journey without her, which made watching her say goodbye even more emotional.

I also want to extend my congratulations to the new royalty of the Amite Oyster Festival. I know each of you will be amazing ambassadors for both the festival and the oyster industry. Caidence, I know you will do great things with this title, and I am so excited to reign with you by my side. 🤍🦪🤍

SUNDAY

The last day of the most memorable weekend of my life has come and gone entirely too quickly.

I started off my day introducing The Brittany Jenkins Band. Then was quickly joined by the rest of my royalty to do some singing of our own as I gathered the crowd to help us sing happy birthday to Brittany! Thank you, Brittany, for celebrating with us!

Since it was the last day, I ate as much as I could, danced til’ my feet felt like they were going to fall off (literally), and sang until my voice was gone.

To close out the day, my royalty and my board joined Peyton Falgoust on stage for one last song where I played the best guitar solo the festival has EVER seen (I swear it was really me guys. I’m like super musically talented.🫣😂)

Thank you to everyone who has made this weekend so incredible. This has been a dream come true.❤️
