Confidence. Creativity. Community. 🎶

There’s nothing better than hearing our students describe what the Future Producer Academy has meant to them in their own words.

From growing in confidence and trusting their creative instincts, to developing new skills and finding their place in the studio — this is what it’s all about.

Creating opportunities. Building confidence. Nurturing the next generation of producers.

And we’re only just getting started. ❤️

On 24th September, 16 new students arrived at the Qube studios in Acton for the start of their FPA programme.

Throughout the following 10 months they will receive mentorship from Fraser T Smith and assigned individual mentors, along with talks, masterclasses and studio induction.

This isn’t just a music course, it’s a programme focussed on building their community as well as learning the soft skills needed to ensure a meaningful career in music.

Some of our students had the opportunity to attend the Mental Health & Songwriting Summit, presented by Spotify’s Heart & Soul in partnership with Music Minds Matter. 💚

It was an inspiring day with talented writers Jin Jin, Gabe Simon, Ruth Anne Cunningham, Satch & Louis Du Sauzay having honest conversations about mental health, creativity and protecting yourself in the music industry — from imposter syndrome and anxiety, to creating safe writing rooms built on trust, mutual respect and vulnerability.

Denise Devenish discussed self love and care and highlighted the importance of being able to write about adversity but not letting it consume.

“Speak to your suffering, but don’t be consumed by your suffering.”

Guvna B and Kojey Radical also spoke powerfully about burnout, staying grounded, setting boundaries and surrounding yourself with people you trust enough to be vulnerable with.

Perhaps the most important takeaway of all: we’re in this together. We’re not alone. ❤️

Thank you to Lara Baker and Goodness Victoria at Spotify 🙏

When you join the Future Producer Academy you graduate into it and not from it.

Last year, 16 young people joined the FPA community and this year we are so happy to welcome 16 more.

This is how we plan to scale up …. and we hope that every student will continue to benefit from the friendships, mentorship and relationships built long after they have completed the course.

You don’t leave FPA, we become one 💫💫💫

Summer, according to my camera roll. Mostly Jackson, a little Mediterranean, one long table under the Tetons. Collected, not curated. Well, maybe a little. The Journal opens Wednesday 😉
