Back at Readings St Kilda again! What an amazing time I had to launch Ned Needs to Build! I was humbled to have support from friends, family and Kidlit folk. Thank you to @karenwasson_author for hosting. A BIG thank you to my adult friends who joined in to play musical statues when the kids were too shy. I was so chuffed that Brodie (who inspired Ned) came along. Thanks so much @brodiej_m

We talked about buildings and sculptures. I read my book, made buildings and sculptures with stickers, ate some cake and signed some books.

Thank you so much to Pierre, Gerard, Kim and the team at Readings St Kilda for looking after us.

If you missed out on a copy, you can find some signed copies at Readings St Kilda, Readings Kids Carlton, Readings Hawthorn and Readings Malvern. And some unsigned copies (so far… I’ll try to get there soon) at Readings Chadstone and Readings Doncaster. Thanks to everyone who came to support me. @starfishbaypublishing @readingsbooks @readingskids

😻📚 What a purrfect afternoon for a picture book launch @readingsbooks St Kilda!! Warmest congrats to my lovely author friend @sarahspeedie_author , illustrator Tom Jellet and publisher extraordinaire @lisabberryman and the team @harperkidsau for bringing the pawsome 'Boss Cat' into the world ❣️
.
📚😻 It's such a fabulous rhyming story about a BOSS cat we can all relate to, with illustrations just bursting with cattitude 😉😺 The cover designer, Shirley Tran, must be pretty chuffed with how it pops in these gorgeous photos, too❣️
.
📚 😻 The launch was such a joyous celebration of picture book creation with Sarah's family and fellow kidlit friends. I always love hearing the back-story to a book's creation, and loved hearing about Sarah's surly childhood cat, Badger, now immortalised as BOSS cat; as well as her introducing us to her aunt Jo-Jo, who features in the book!
.
📚😻 The afternoon's shenanigans were brilliantly MC'd by the cats' whiskers of kidlit podcasters, Ken Williams @reading_with_a_chance_of_tacos . All the kids had a wonderful time dancing down the catwalk and posing up a storm in their cat masks with Party Cat, too. All in all, a gorgeous afternoon!!
