POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Tomorrow, the 2026 Creative City Summit (@creativecity.ca) begins in @cityofcalgary, bringing together creative minds, cultural leaders, and communities from across Canada to connect, collaborate, and imagine what’s next for arts and culture in our cities.

We are honoured to be part of this important gathering and will take the stage at @thegrandyyc, Calgary’s iconic historic theatre, for the Summit’s Host City Reception to present Rhythms of Resilience, a powerful step dance performance celebrating resilience, unity, identity, and collective strength.

Through rhythm, movement, and storytelling, Rhythms of Resilience reflects the power of culture to reclaim space, connect communities, and transform adversity into strength.

We look forward to sharing this moment and celebrating the energy, creativity, and diversity that make our communities stronger.

Seven years of becoming, hanging on those walls. And then four days of watching people stand in front of it and feel something.
I made this show about the storm underneath the bright surface. About all the versions of myself that carried me here. And somewhere between opening night and the final goodbye, I watched people find their own storms in it, their own becoming. I will never have the words for what that felt like.
Some of these pieces have gone home with people now. They get to live new lives, in new rooms, with new hearts. And I get to carry these four days with me forever.
Still tearing up going through these. 🩷 More photos because I can't stop looking, and I don't want to.

Special thank you to my curator @sarahuwadiae for believing in this vision from day one. To my project manager @remadets_events for keeping everything moving🥹❤️‍🔥
Special thanks to @lagoschopcatering
