🕵🏻‍♀️ We uncovered a hidden gem in the basement of Picnic Linden Hills last night…The Whiskey Room. 🥃 It’s a cozy, intimate space perfect for private dining.

🍽️ We enjoyed a generous five‑course meal with an incredible lineup of shared wines.

1️⃣ Course 1 opened with a board of light meats, cheeses, breads, spreads, and deviled eggs crowned with caviar.

🍾 With this crew, bubbles are never in short supply — we started off with some sips of Champagne Eric Rodez Ambonnay and 2015 Dom Pérignon.

2️⃣ Course 2 brought a creamy Caesar blanketed in fresh parmesan and anchovies, followed by golden beets over arugula.

🌼 For wine, we tasted a side‑by‑side of a deeply golden 2001 Blanc de Lynch‑Bages and 2022 Domaine Marcel Deiss Mambourg, an Alsatian field blend full of honeycomb, florals, and ripe stone fruit.

3️⃣ Course 3 featured a sumptuous lobster over rich, creamy pasta paired with two Chardonnays — 2018 Domaine Larue 1er Cru “Les Combes” and 2022 Bevan Cellars Chardonnay — each bringing citrus lift and buttery symmetry to the dish.

🍓 We also enjoyed a remarkably fresh, berry‑fruited 1999 Michel Magnien Bourgogne next to a 2019 Domaine Serene “Aspect” Pinot Noir showing crème de cassis, vanilla, and baking spice.

4️⃣ Course 4 was a delicious prime NY strip with crispy onion, beets, arugula, and roasted carrots, matched with a 2016 Lerner Project RMS Cabernet Sauvignon by Russell Bevan 🍷and a 2007 Larkmead “The Lark.”

👌 Dessert was a decadent medley of cakes, from carrot, to chocolate, and more, paired with a honeyed, orange‑marmalade‑and‑saffron‑laced 2004 Guiraud Sauternes. 🍊

🥂We ended the night with a final toast of 2006 Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame, showing peach, cherry preserves, wet stones, brioche, and richness.
