Birthdays have never really been my favorite šŸ™ƒ

They’re usually the day I reflect the hardest on everything I haven’t done yet. The goals I may have missed, the ideas still sitting in my notes, the projects that aren’t quite finished, and whether I’ve accomplished everything I hoped I would by this point.

But when I stop and really look at this past year, there’s actually a lot to be grateful for.

This year, I opened a studio that started as nothing more than a vision in my head. I completed what I jokingly call my ā€œfinalā€ comprehensive Pilates program (I think this one might actually be the last šŸ¤”). I continued studying with teachers from across the lineages whose knowledge, generosity, and dedication constantly inspire me to be better. I also had the privilege of mentoring and training instructors who are now thriving in their own careers, proving that the time, energy, and care invested in them was worth every second.

Most importantly, I feel like I’ve continued finding my own voice in this work.

Not someone else’s interpretation. Not what I think people want to hear. Not what’s popular or trending.

My own.

I’ve always had a strong point of view, but for the first time, I feel ready to share it in a bigger way. To contribute more openly to the conversations shaping this industry, while continuing to honor the teachers and lineages that helped me get here.

There is still so much I want to build, create, learn, and contribute. There are projects already in motion that I’m incredibly excited about, and I know I’m only scratching the surface of what’s possible.

So while birthdays still make me reflect, this year I’m trying to spend a little less time focusing on what’s left to accomplish and a little more time appreciating how far I’ve come.

Grateful for another trip around the sun. #32

XOXO,
