Gooood morning Natchez,

Here is resident artist Ciara DuBose sharing her thoughts on the Suzanne Herbert award-winning documentary “Natchez,” along with an update on the progress of the 8-foot sculpture of a Queen that she is currently creating here in the Natchez Theater District.

Her message is clear and simple: representation matters - now more than ever. So don’t stop shining your light especially now 🥊🙏✊

👋 Who Are the People in Your Neighborhood?
✨ Meet Our Muse of the Natchez Theater District: Ciara Dubose @sarinadelphine ✨

Just in her early twenties, Ciara Dubose is already an artist with a rare creative fire! She’s a painter, singer, fashion designer, and photographer from Atlanta. She also happens to be the cousin of longtime resident Van Hawkins, continuing the family’s deep roots on Reynolds & Elm Street

Ciara says that being back on her family’s land feels like a creative and spiritual homecoming. And you can see that reflected in her extraordinary sculptures & paintings, many of which come directly from visions in her dreams.

This is what creativity looks like over here in our neighborhood - slow, bold, unapologetic and unmistakably Natchez.

Watch this space y’all!
