Back to Basics is Christina Aguilera at her most ambitious, blending vintage jazz, soul and blues with modern pop, R&B and hip hop into a bold, cinematic double album. Her powerhouse vocals shine across heartfelt ballads, energetic swing numbers and deeply personal songs, while the retro-inspired production gives the record a timeless charm. Despite its expansive length, the album showcases Aguilera’s artistic growth, fearless creativity and passion for classic music, delivering one of the most distinctive releases of her career.

Aqualung is widely regarded as one of Jethro Tull’s defining masterpieces, blending progressive rock, hard rock and folk with poetic lyricism and evocative instrumentation. Released on March 19, 1971, the album features iconic tracks such as “Aqualung,” “Locomotive Breath,” “Hymn 43” and “Cross-Eyed Mary,” showcasing the band’s adventurous shift from blues-rock into a richly textured soundscape driven by Ian Anderson’s distinctive vocals and flute, Martin Barre’s sharp guitar work, and memorable rhythmic depth. Its balance of heavy riffs, acoustic balladry and thought-provoking themes — from social observation to personal exploration — has earned the album enduring acclaim, substantial commercial success and an influential legacy across rock and progressive music circles.

Together with my fellow Brother In Rhythm, Steve Anderson, I was fortunate to do quite a bit of remix and production work for some pretty big pop stars throughout the 90s, arguably none more so than David Bowie!
It was an honour and a privilege to get to remix the Thin White Duke’s ‘Jump The Say’ from his 1993 album Black Tie White Noise’.
Very much influenced by those early Guerilla Records releases, this was the early days of what we know now as Progressive House.

A Night at the Opera (1975) finds Queen expanding into lavish, genre-hopping territory: theatrical arrangements, rich vocal harmonies and Brian May’s distinctive guitar framed by Freddie Mercury’s dramatic lead. Roy Thomas Baker’s production and Riley-like orchestral flourishes push the band into cinematic pop-rock territory, with the epochal “Bohemian Rhapsody” anchoring a daring, timeless record that balances hard rock, music-hall whimsy and operatic ambition.

Happy Hot Sunday dear Lovelies, please take care … drink water and eat fruits and vegetables … and OBVIOUSLY listen & watch George 😜🤩😎🙌🏻❤️‍🔥🎶💜
Like yesterday #9august1987 the 2nd solo #iwantyoursex part 1 was recorded at @sarmstudios in London 🎶🎶🎶

George , about this song ,commented during an interview with @thejonathanrossshowofficial :

I wasn’t expecting the blanket ban.
I think it’s unfair because it’s the first ban of its kind in a long time and I think that if I were not George, then I would have no problem being played on those stations.
And it’s incredibly irritating having a record out for a couple of weeks and knowing that people haven’t heard it.

Despite censorship and airplay issues, an edited version of the song’s music video received ample airplay on North American music channels, fueling its popularity there.

The single eventually reached number two on both the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and the US Cash Box Top 100
