First time throwing in 3 years—and it ended up being an unforgettable experience. The morning of, Ryan said if you throw over 40 feet, you could make finals and compete with the elite throwers. I didn’t have throwing shoes or any of my gear… but the GPG squad was hyping me up, so I went for it just for fun—and I’m so glad I did.

Huge thank you to @worldshotputseries for putting on such an incredible comp and to @sorinex for hosting an amazing event. Grateful to be part of it!

✅Newest member of the 350 lbs clean club!

350 has been a huge goal of mine. Elated and proud of this! Tough rep but stuck with it after missing my first (and frankly better) attempt of 352. Hit some good reps at 330 and 341 just before. Will definitely work on my front squat and front rack strength in the future. Bodyweight 217 lbs!

How to Train as an Athlete: 🎥 🏋️
Hinging and it's importance
.
Hinging properly is a fundamental movement pattern that plays a crucial role in athletic performance.
.
Importance of Hinging

1️⃣ Power Generation: Hinging is essential for generating power in many sports. It engages the posterior chain (hamstrings, glutes, and lower back), which is vital for explosive movements like jumping, sprinting, and lifting.

2️⃣ Injury Prevention: Proper hinging techniques help maintain spinal alignment and reduce the risk of injuries, especially in the lower back. In addition it encourages proper recruitment of the posterior chain keeping your spine safe and performance high.

3️⃣ Movement Efficiency: Athletes who hinge correctly can perform movements more efficiently, leading to improved performance and reduced fatigue. This efficiency allows for improved speed, power, and agility.

4️⃣ Functional Strength: Hinging mimics natural movements required in daily life and various sports, making it a functional strength builder that translates well into athletic performance.
.
Like anything else, use hinging as one of multiple foundational movements within your own programming, make sure to maintain proper technique, progressively overload, and continue to build a strong core to support the increase in load.
.
Exercises found in the video:

1️⃣ Hip thrust
2️⃣ RDL
3️⃣ Reverse Hyper
4️⃣ Hip Extensions
