Hey friends on the ‘gram,

I’m playing a solo show at the @brunswickartistsbar , a year on from my first ever gig as ‘jib’ at the artists bar.
Thursday night, 22nd October, free entry.

I’ll be celebrating the release of a single,
‘rain / weary eyes’

A massive thanks for the incredible illustration & poster by @ashleysartspace (drawn at my most recent gig at the artists bar!). Highly recommend that you go to her for your artistic endeavours :’)

Scroll to the right for a little info about the support artists!

@arlon_faria, a beloved friend, will be opening the night!

Living and creating on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people, Arlon Faria, pianist and songwriter, explores many of the perennial themes of experience, stories as old as storytelling itself. A humble and honest offering, Arlon weaves gentle and playful songs, traversing the rocky roads of life with a trusting and hopeful heart. Arlon’s music is a warm and loving invitation to open, soften, and lean in.

And main support will be a solo set by the fab @saskiarobinmusic !!

Saskia Robin is a singer, guitarist and songwriter who takes most of her inspiration from her prized 90s CD collection. Her sound, earning comparisons to Hole, PJ Harvey and Big Thief, is a unique blend of gritty guitar, candidly raw vocals, and lyrics that hit a little too close to home.

Since 2023, Saskia’s performances have included an opening set for breakout Australian artist Esha Tewari, a state-wide competition-won recording slot at the Always Live Soundbox showcase, and countless gigs at iconic Melbourne venues including The Espy, The Tote, The Retreat, The Workers’ Club, and The Bergy Seltzer.

Through word-of-mouth and social media, Saskia has built a status as a cult-followed favourite in Naarm-Melbourne’s alternative music scene.

And I’ll be playing two sets; a short set on classical guitar, followed by one on steel-string acoustic.

I’ll be playing the single ‘rain / weary eyes’ live.

See you there :’)

FRIDAY UPSTAIRS: SASKIA ROBIN

Join Saskia Robin at the Tote with support from Jemma Rae and Charlotte Bridie.
Saskia Robin - singer, guitarist and songwriter - is an emerging artist in NAARM - Melbourne.

Her candidly raw vocals, grungy guitar sound and poignant lyricism boasts an air of visceral femininity, the likes of which could be compared to artists like Hole, PJ Harvey and Big Thief. She blends this love of 90s rock with a uniquely contemporary sound and subject matter in her debut EP, ‘Wick’.

Since 2023, Saskia’s performances have included an opening set for breakout Australian artist Esha Tewari, a state-wide competition-won recording slot at the Always Live Soundbox showcase, and countless gigs at iconic Melbourne venues including The Espy, The Tote, The Retreat, The Workers’ Club, and The Bergy Seltzer

Another crazy week of live music! Every week I’m like “this is the week where I’m going to run out of space to fit it all in” but somehow I manage!

Thursday in particular has an incredible line up this week, plus I’m very jealous of everyone heading to Ashnikko!!

(And yeah, I’ve spotted two typos in this but it’s already a day late so I don’t have time to change them they’re just going to have to annoy me 🙈.)
