This MacDonald is in Sydney’s popular location, Circular Quay. Normally very busy with locals and tourists but 6:00am on the weekend was very quiet.

Good chance for this young gull to order what he likes. But nobody cared. Eventually he found out a small piece of chip but the pigeon watching the scene suddenly approached and ate it up.

🌸Hello Spring🌸
Here in South Hemisphere, spring has come
📍Auburn Botanic Gardens

1-4. Rainbow Lorikeet and Cherry Blossom
5-6. Bee and Cherry Blossom
7-10. Cherry Blossom Macro
11. Full blossom
12. In the the sunset light (macro video)
13. Along the garden pond (not fully open yet)
14. Japanese Garden scenes from 31 Aug 26 (iPhone video)

All the photos and videos are from yesterday. The last day of winter months and the day after Cherry Blossom festival ended. This year blossom opened late. I visited here 4 times in August. Finally saw full bloom.

You could still see beautiful blossom in this week. The last video shows the status right now.

Rainbow Lorikeets in Japanese Garden 🇯🇵🌸🦜
(From last Saturday )

Here, colourful parrots and cherry blossoms again 😅
This time different location, Auburn Botanic Gardens.
Right now Millennium Cherry Trees are in full bloom. Same type as Royal Botanic Garden’s cherry blossoms 🌸

There will be “Cherry Blossoms Festival” in two weeks time in this garden. By then Millennium Cherries are all gone and different type (Japanese Flowering Cherry - a type of 八重桜) will decorate the garden beautifully🌸🌸🌸

I added a mobile video how the garden is right now. At the end, it shows Cherry Blossoms Trail with big Torii ⛩️ has no hint of flowers yet 🪾🪾🪾Timing will be perfect.

Millennium Cherries and Rainbow Lorikeet🌸🦜
Sydney early spring — Cherry blossoms started blooming🌸

On the weekend I visited Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. Cherry blossoms were half open. In a week or two, they will be fully bloomed. Already a lot of birds were visiting.

Cosmos at Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney 🌸
I noticed cosmos bloom several times in the year. Generally they are considered as summer ~ autumn flowers but I also see them in winter and spring too.

Sunrise in the autumn rain 🍁🌦️🌧️

Sun peeked through the misty sky. It was raining but autumn colour was bright under Harbour Bridge🍁

Sun hid behind the clouds and soft rain continued.
I kept walking along the harbour ⛴️🐦

Sweet tooth in the wild 🍭🦜
This Rainbow Lorikeet is enjoying nectar from an Umbrella Tree.

Fun fact: these flowers can make them a little tipsy 🍷🦜

*the last photo is “Umbrella Tree” looking up from the bottom. Leaves open like an umbrella☂️ and flower parts spread like octopus legs🐙 Flowers produce large amount of nectar from summer to autumn that attracts birds, bats and insects♥️🦜
