As I prepare to turn 38, I can’t help but reflect on a year filled with growth, challenges, lessons, and blessings.

I’ve continued building Black Men Read, growing as an entrepreneur, becoming a published poet and public speaker, and embracing the greatest role of my life being a father. Watching my son grow reminds me daily why legacy matters.

This year has also taught me a lot about relationships, love, communication, and grace. Not every lesson comes easy, but every lesson has helped shape the man I’m becoming.

I’ve continued to carry the memories of my brothers with me, honoring them through the work I do, the words I write, and the life I live. Their impact continues to fuel my purpose.

As I step into 38, I’m grateful for family, friends, community, and everyone who has supported me along the way. I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m learning to trust the journey, celebrate the progress, and appreciate the people who walk beside me.

From founder to father, from poet to public speaker, from loss to purpose I’m grateful for every chapter that has brought me here.

Here’s to another year of growth, healing, impact, and legacy.

Last week was special. 💯

Seeing my son beside me at the market while the students from our Seed to Seasoning program at The Biome School sold the seasoning blends they created was one of those full circle moments.

This wasn’t just about selling products.
It was about teaching legacy, ownership, confidence, and entrepreneurship at an early age.

Our children deserve opportunities to see that they can create something from their minds and put it into the world. From mixing flavors to speaking with customers, every moment was a lesson bigger than the market itself.

That’s the type of exposure that plants seeds for generations.

Yesterday at The Biome, we turned learning into real life skills

This was our second session of the Seed to Seasoning program, and you can already see the growth.

I taught the babies not just how to create—but how to do it the right way. We talked about the importance of sanitizing and sealing their seasoning bottles… because excellence is in the details.

They didn’t just make something—they learned process, discipline, and pride in their work.

This is what it looks like when we plant seeds early… and water them with intention.

Watching them take ownership, ask questions, and move with care reminded me that our future is in good hands.

This work is how we shift the culture—teaching our youth that excellence, discipline, and pride in what you create is the standard… not the exception.

This is bigger than seasoning this is confidence, life skills, and legacy in the making.
