Whalers Happy All Snakes Day! The rest of the world thinks that today is Saint Patrick‘s Day but we all know better. We’re glad you we all lived through another one. You continue to give us the gift of your business and your friendship. Over the years we’ve made a lot of wonderful friends and met a lot of unique people on Saint Pat‘s Day and every other day. What a gift. In honor of that gift we wanted to present some trivia. Some of you know the origin of the Whale but let’s bore you anyway. Years ago when we first undertook this venture we were originally going to be called Ale Yeah @aleyeah partnering with our dear pals in Atlanta. A selfish and greedy third-party forced both of us to abandon our partnership due to this their greed. So at the 11th hour we had to create a new business name and logo weeks away from opening. At every spare moment we were spitballing business name ideas, we were on the clock. At dinner, on the couch, at the beach we were coming up with beer puns, alliterative names, plays on our last name; we tried it all. We put together a list and created a March Madness style tournament to be voted on by 100 of our friends. Folks voted and we got to the last two. SPOILERS: One was White Whale Craft Ales, but other was...Brew Ha Ha. We took both of them to a trademark attorney and had them review them and Brew Ha Ha is already an established business. Easter egg; check our bar for their coaster. Eight years later we had the best day ever in our little business’ life and it is entirely because of you and the Whalers that came before. We are moved and grateful that you took a chance on our little business all those years ago. Or last year. Or yesterday. Or whenever you started lowering your standards. Bonus content; Expertly crafted logo designs for the proposed Brew Ha Ha. Happy (actual) Saint Patrick’s Day! See you soon. Eat something sleazy today to fight those hangovers and get back up on your feet like the champions you are! -The Whale
