Say No to Animal Experiment Bill ❌

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my strong objections to the proposed Draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Control and Supervision of Experiment, Breeding and Trading of Laboratory Animals) Rules, 2026 (G.S.R. 864(E)).
I am deeply concerned that these new rules weaken the existing independent oversight and safeguards meant to protect animals from severe suffering in laboratories. Sourcing animals from open markets or unregistered establishments, and allowing internal institutional committees to self-approve experiments, creates serious loopholes for animal abuse.
I urge the Ministry and CCSEA to immediately withdraw these draft rules and prioritize ethically validated, human-relevant non-animal research methods.

ANOTHER LEOPARD LOST. HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE?

Eight leopards reportedly killed on a single railway line. And they are not the only victims. Tigers, gaur, deer, sloth bears and other wildlife have also reportedly died on the Ballarshah–Gondia railway line in Maharashtra.

How many lives must be lost before authorities treat this as a wildlife conservation emergency?

Railway tracks cut through landscapes that wildlife depends on to survive. Animals should not have to pay for our infrastructure with their lives.

We demand:
Speed restrictions in wildlife-sensitive stretches.
Scientifically designed wildlife crossings and mitigation measures.
Transparent reporting of every wildlife death.
Accountability and urgent action from railway and forest authorities.

Development cannot mean a death sentence for wildlife.

Their habitats are not empty land. Their lives matter. Their right to exist matters.

KUKUR TIHAR — A FESTIVAL WHERE EVERY DOG DESERVES TO FEEL LOVED

On November 8, 2026, Nepal will celebrate Kukur Tihar, a beautiful tradition dedicated to honoring our four-legged companions. Dogs are adorned with marigold garlands, blessed with a red tika on their foreheads, and offered delicious food as a gesture of love and gratitude.

But what makes this festival truly special is that the love isn't reserved only for pets. Street dogs are celebrated too. Whether they have a loving home or spend their lives on the streets, every dog deserves kindness, dignity, and respect.

In Hindu tradition, dogs are associated with Yama, the god of death, and are cherished for their loyalty, protection, and companionship.
Imagine a world where no dog is hungry, unwanted, feared, or forgotten. A world where every wagging tail is met with kindness and every life is treated with compassion.

Perhaps the most beautiful lesson Kukur Tihar teaches us is this: love has no pedigree, compassion has no boundaries, and every life deserves to be celebrated.
May we carry this beautiful spirit beyond one festival and into every single day.
