A few photos from this morning’s litter pick at Dromore High School 💜 Nearly two hours with the 70 kg tyre on my back was made that bit easier by the brilliant people around me! Huge thanks again to Deidre from Higher Ground Dromore for organising it, and to all the pupils and staff for making me so welcome and getting behind Tate. From helping with the litter pick to taking donation buckets around at break and lunch, you’ve been amazing. I went to collect the buckets this afternoon and they’ve asked if they can keep them for another 24 hours, so hopefully there’s an even bigger result for the weekend 🤞 Really grateful for the support from our local community 💜 WeightForTate.com

Just finished a litter pick at @dromorehigh , with the 70 kg tyre on my back for 1 hour 50 minutes, my longest carry yet! 💪💜 A massive thank you to Deidre from Higher Ground Dromore for organising it, and to everyone at Dromore High School for welcoming me and accommodating the tyre! Everyone involved was amazing. The pupils are also taking collection buckets around during their break and lunch, and there’s a bucket and card reader in the staff room for anyone who wants to support Tate. I’ll be back this afternoon to collect everything. Seeing people get behind Tate like this means so much. On September 17, 2026, the FDA approved a gene therapy for Sanfilippo syndrome Type A in the United States. For Tammy McDaid, whose young son Tate lives with the disease in Wales, the news brought tremendous hope. But that excitement quickly turned into a new challenge. Tammy says the family has been told to anticipate a treatment cost of approximately £2.95 million, with additional expenses associated with receiving care in America. In this clip, Tammy describes the emotional roller coaster of celebrating a medical breakthrough while confronting the enormous obstacles to accessing it. Tate's eligibility and treatment arrangements have not yet been confirmed. 💜 £415.89 RAISED FOR TATE! 💜 Dromore, you were absolutely incredible today! 🥹 I spent the day collecting for Tate at SuperValu Dromore, and I’m genuinely blown away by the generosity and kindness shown by our community. From people stopping for a chat and asking about Tate’s story, to those digging deep into their pockets to donate, every single interaction meant so much. Even the school kids out on their lunch break were stopping to put what they could into the buckets. Honestly, moments like that really stick with you. 💜 There were so many lovely conversations throughout the day, and it was a brilliant reminder of just how much good there is in the world. A massive thank you to @supervaluni Dromore for allowing me to collect in store, and to every single person who donated, stopped for a conversation, or simply wished me luck with the challenge. £415.89 raised in one day. A huge thank you to @printdirectni who sorted us with this amazing banner. We contacted them in a panic as our order with someone else had been cancelled and we needed it by Friday for our collection. Not only did they already do us a huge favour in getting it ready in less than 24 hours, they then refused to charge us too!
