Shauna Penrod🩷 What has shaped me the most has really been a lifetime of experiences. Being the middle child taught me early on that I needed to be an example to my younger siblings, especially since they were always watching me and wanting to follow me around. Losing my father when I was 18 changed me even more helping my mom, taking on more responsibility, and learning how my choices could influence the people around me. Those moments taught me accountability and the importance of showing up for others. Later in life, I realized something was missing. Through my younger son and his family, I came to understand how much I needed Jesus Christ in my life. When I lost my older son two years ago, it was Christ who carried me through the hardest moments I’ve ever faced. The knowledge that I will see my son again gives me the strength to keep moving forward every single day. If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: Be true to yourself you are better than you think.
