Pre-order the vinyl: “Live from BODY&SOUL - The Golden Jubilee.” Track 5 — “The Circle of Color Emotions” by the Mayuko Katakura Quintet, recorded live at BODY&SOUL. One of Japan’s finest pianists, Katakura is a Berklee-trained composer who won the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Piano Competition and reached the semi-finals of the Thelonious Monk Competition. Here she leads a two-horn quintet — with acclaimed drummer Gene Jackson — through her own richly detailed writing. One of nine historic performances on our Limited Edition Double LP tribute to Kyoko Seki and fifty years of the legendary club. Every copy includes access to the full live shows, 3 months free of Oh! Jazz, and — for the first 50 orders — an exclusive art print by David Vaamonde. Own a piece of jazz history. Link in bio. #BODYANDSOUL #OhJazz #GoldenJubilee #Vinyl #MayukoKatakura
