I usually don’t post everything that’s going on in my life on social media, but this moment is gonna get its shine. For the last decade I’ve been through so many ups and downs. I’ve shed tears, laughed, screamed, you name it. I’ve done so much repairing and tearing down of things that no longer served me. I’ve literally had to start all over financially, mentally, and emotionally. My dream has been to own a piece of land and a home in the city that made me who I am. I am standing here today because of the grace of God and the strength of my Ancestors, shedding tears as I type this message. I am so grateful for my village for holding me up when I couldn’t hold up myself. I love you all. (Special shout out to my mortgage guru @melthemortgagelady + my realtor @say__mari ) Owning a home as a Black person is a collective win for us all, and I am so proud of my little Creole Cottage in my hometown. Just know that if you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, don’t be afraid to let the light inside guide you until you get there. You are not alone. Don’t quit.
