[Nationals, 2025]

Poured my heart into this meet prep. I think I did the best I could. Was telling Jonus how I was pretty confident in bench and deads this time.

Maybe I was too delusional…

Squat
225/237.5/245 (-5)

Bench Press
132.5/140/145 (x)

Deadlift
270/285/305 (x) (-7.5)

Total: 670kg (-5)

Bw: 81kg

IPF GLP: 93.9 (-1.13)
DOTS: 458.65

Ended squats with -5kg from my ATPR, 250kg. Was hoping to at least match 250kg, but it wasn’t there today.

Second bench attempt of 140kg moved well. This gave me the confidence for 145kg, but it seems too far of a reach for me.

I was pleasantly pleased with how the first two attempts for deadlifts moved. In a surprising twist of fate, we made the most gains on DL this macro. I needed 305kg to even stand a fighting chance to be on the podium. I was locked in and ready for the biggest pull of my life, but I didn’t have it in me that day.

I had big dreams for this meet.

But I was put in my place by my subpar performance.

I’ll spend the next year or so away from the platform. I’m hoping this proper “offseason” will be good for gains and for me to revisit other important things in life.

Thank you to the good folks for being in my corner. 🙏🏼

Thanks for @powerliftingsingapore for constantly putting up great meets. To the spotters with their kind words of encouragement, the refs for your fair calls and the volunteers for your time.

Thanks @_hohomustache for supporting me despite not feeling too good yourself ❤️

And to the lads in the warmup room @jonus.ong @qunnn_pang @sb.vict @geordi_t @a.weicong @cw_lifts @daniolbro @pow3r_bean @tiffy_ng88 for making this long session enjoyable.

We’ll be back. Train safe and lift hard folks.
