October is going to be a little busy.. in the best possible way. 🍂

I’m taking #TheLayeredHome on the road this month, with stops from Connecticut to California, North Carolina to Texas. There will be book signings, cocktails, conversations about collecting, plenty of shopping, and, of course, a tag sale or two along the way.

First up: Darien for “The Thrill of the Hunt,” followed by two stops in San Francisco, then High Point for three days of The Ticking Tent on tour, and finally my first time attending Round Top. Any recs??

October 6 — Darien, CT

October 13 + 15 — San Francisco, CA

Swipe through for all the details. I’d love to see some familiar faces and meet plenty of new ones too.

Come say hello. See you out there!

Delighted to see the beautifully layered home of friend @anniedowninginteriors featured by @houseandgardenuk. I love styling interiors brimming with color, fearless taste and personality. Annie’s family home in Austin TX particularly resonated with me: it’s chock full of bold pattern and texture, quirky architecture and china cupboards filled so tightly they barely close. My kind of house. 🏡🙏 #aspoonfulrecommends

Thrilled to see this one in this weekend’s @wsj. ✨

It’s a joy to style interiors and collaborate with creatives I admire and respect. It makes tasks like like chopping down roadside branches, foraging for pretty produce in the country and rummaging in the basement for the right objects to tell the right story and bringing a beautifully designed home to life that much more fun. It’s especially rewarding to see it all come together on the page. A big thank you to the wonderful team who brought it to life. Pick up this weekend’s @wsj to see the full story. #interiorstyling #aspoonfulrecommends

A space for the kids! A utilitarian bathroom shared by two little boys. Small 1x1 tiles with contrasting grout and the perfect complimentary art and shower curtain.

A bright kids room filled with stuffies and personality. The neon window accent and custom blind elevated the space.

A drop zone for the whole family. Essential in any family home! We love designing real life spaces for real life people.

Zoom out on the living room. A pink fur (!) sectional, mismatched chairs, and our favorite mushroom stools from @forsythart paired with this amazing painting by @paulferney. Our clients dreamt of night swims in their own pool (just beyond these double glass doors) and this piece really spoke to them. Paul had a show nearby right as they were moving in.

The bright and sunny entry foyer at our Fair Haven project. We played around with simplicity and scale here to add a slice of quirk but also simple function.

Beautiful styling detail by @juliastevens_

We had just the right amount of leftover kitchen and bathroom tiles to create this splashy pattern behind the hallway bar. This is our kind of color pop.

Another view of our Fair Haven NJ kitchen. We love the way this custom cabinetry turned out. This kitchen is soft, bright, colorful, and full of texture. Zellige and the perfect marble slabs mixed with vintage wood chairs and a dog to match 💛 classic and fresh at the same time.

The powder room in our Fair Haven project. Our favorite sink from @watermonopoly paired with the perfect mini backsplash and the perfect paint color! A simple space that we just adore!

We call this one the “Ben Den” - named for our client who wanted this sunny sunken living room to be his sports watching lair. We don’t typically design around TVs so we dug deep to make sure it offered much more than just that. Thanks to these @leannefordinteriors swivels and sofa, we think we nailed it!

The moodiest room in our Fair Haven house. We started with our favorite fish rug from the one and only @carpetbeggarsrugs. We sized it down to fit the space like a glove and pulled out the best colors for these classic Eames chairs. Our designs often marry high and low and this room is the epitome with IKEA desktops in the perfect monochromatic shade of blue.

The primary suite of our Fair Haven project. A subtle use of color and pattern tie the bathroom and bedroom together. The crispy white walls and matching neutral custom millwork let the colors shine. This checkered zellige floor is the star of the show!
