POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
No matter how long I’ve been telling stories, I still get nervous before I tell a new one. Except this time, it wasn’t just nerves. It was perfectionism trying to sneak back in.

Coming back from Fringe, I was so re-inspired that I said yes to everything. Seeing more shows, hearing more stories, supporting art in this theatre town! (#laisatheatretown) Then I said yes to telling a horror story on stage for the first time and pulled it together much faster than I’d like, all while balancing my 9-to-5

Before I got on stage, I kept wondering whether I’d remember it all, whether the funny moments would be funny, and whether it would actually feel scary.

It’s a familiar voice. For years, perfectionism kept me from finishing anything. I’d pour in so much time and detail into it, that nothing made it out. Now I’m so hungry to tell stories that I don’t always leave room to sit with them.

But Sunday reminded me why I keep saying yes.

Sold-out house, a room full of people leaning in, creative and fun artists all around, and now I’m glad to add horror to my list of stories! 🖤

I’m still learning to make space for the work I love instead of only squeezing it in. But I’d rather figure that out on stage than wait for the perfect moment like I used to.

Thank you to @staceypatino , @turbinearts and @theactorscompanyla for this opportunity. I’m glad to have performed with this talented lineup, and it was so cool to perform alongside my good friend and the Spooky King himself, @thejonschnitzer . More stories soon!
