Regionals Round II
90kg Open 🏆

467.5kg | 1030.7lbs

This was a comp of firsts! My first time competing solely in open (I didn’t want to pay the fees for junior lol), first time handling several athletes while also competing myself in the same comp, first time competing with @arcpowerlifting, first time having to gut cut, and first time getting to pull for a win. I’ve never had such a close competition like this day and it was so fun to have such high stakes throughout the meet. I learned so much this go around; about myself and about powerlifting. Every competition I feel myself getting better, not even necessarily just how much I can lift—though that is always fun to watch progress too—but I become smarter, more mature, and mentally stronger.

Squat:
160 | 352 ⚪️⚪️⚪️
165 | 363 ⚪️⚪️⚪️
170 | 375 ⚪️⚪️⚪️

We played it a little safe with squat, my squat confidence hasn’t been great recently so being able to secure a meet PR was a perfect result for me! I was also hitting so much depth this day and that was not helping how much I could lift lol, I definitely overcompensated because I got called on depth at CNats.

Bench:
92.5 | 203 ⚪️⚪️⚪️
97.5 | 215 ⚪️⚪️⚪️
100 | 220.5 🔴🔴🔴

How fun it is to open with 200+ pounds! 97.5 is a comp PR match from last year at regionals, so I think it’s safe to say that a long awaited comp bench PR is coming soon. I did fail 97.5 at Nationals though, so I was still happy to get it back at this meet. 100 wasn’t quite there this day, but I will get it in comp soon enough.

@s0fialifts THE QUEEN

Deadlift:
175 | 385 ⚪️⚪️⚪️
187.5 | 413 ⚪️⚪️⚪️
200 | 440 🔴⚪️⚪️

I have so much I could say about deadlift but will keep this short (ish). Normally I expend a lot of energy and hype on squat/bench but this time I saved energy and I had so much anticipation for deadlift/was ready to give it everything I had. Thank goodness I did! 200 has been a distant goal ever since I started powerlifting, so to hit it for the first time in a comp WHILE pulling for gold was an unreal experience. I have never felt adrenaline like I did before and after thi
