MONDAY COFFEE DISCOVERIES
ZunZun Coffee Roaster | Cypress, Texas

Located along Telge Road, ZunZun brings specialty coffee and on-site roasting to suburban Houston.

Specialty coffee, distinctive architecture, natural light, and an inviting outdoor setting. An SCA Membership, as confirmed by its displayed emblem and barista team during my visit.

A suburban destination bringing specialty coffee, independent roasting, and a welcoming local experience beyond Houston’s suburbia corridors.

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a competition?

Volunteering as a judge is a great way to get an inside look at how the U.S. Barista Championship comes together, from how competitors are evaluated and scored to how each competition flows from start to finish.

Our competitions would not be possible without the time, expertise, and dedication of our judges, and we’re looking to grow our judging team for the 2027 U.S. Barista Championship season. We’re currently looking for Sensory and Technical to join our Houston and San Diego teams.

Whether you’re looking to learn more about competing, deepen your understanding of the judging process, or give back to the coffee community, we’d love to have you be part of the team.

Ready to join? Register through the link in our bio.

2025 was a year full of volatility in the world of coffee. At some point so much had changed and was constantly changing in terms of tariffs that it felt like nothing was shocking anymore. “It felt like we were building the plane as it was flying,” —-a quote from @covoya.coffee Managing Director Rob Stephen.

For your vulnerability and insights into your businesses and relationships during this period of time. More than one of you shared that 2025 was your hardest year in business. I would agree.

Thanks to 25 Magazine for publishing this piece on the year of volatility and what happened for coffee professionals and continues to shape the world of coffee. #sca #25magazine #coffee #tariffs
