Last summer I headed to Mexico City in search of sheet music for Mexican art song... something that is quite difficult to find, even online. We found ourselves at @repmacdowell , the last music store selling large quantities of sheet music in ALL of Mexico. Located down an unassuming street in Coyoacan and located in the patio of a house- it was an adventure to find it. However, the challenge was WELL worth it. There in the stacks I found the works of greater and lesser known Mexican composers. I've had the joy of exploring their music with friends and students for the last year and it is FANTASTIC- just beautiful, thought provoking music. I was fortunate enough to find sheet music for choral works as well. This semester the Southwestern College Chamber Singers have really challenged themselves to explore some of this repertoire, and I hope you can come this Saturday, May 16th @ 6pm to our concert @thefrontartecultura to hear and experience some of this gorgeous music live, I guarantee you'll be glad you came! #nishilatremenda #willtravelformusic #swcchambersingers

A HUGE thank you to our audience on Saturday for the Block Party Concert! Ya'll ignored the weather reports and showed up!! To say we had a BLAST still somehow doesn't do it justice... it was magic. Pure and simple magic. I mean- we got upstaged by a mighty sunset, come on, if that's not divine I don't know what is. Thank you @juliamaeskitchen for being there and feeding the audience your delicious Blaxican menu... folks LOVED it. Mad love ya'll, see you again on September 22nd- mark your calendars! #nishilatremenda #nishilatremendaysusaliados #operadeconstructed #sandiego #tijuana #livemusic
