The first night of Frieze Week at The Mandrake, where art, seduction and theatricality took centre stage.

@fetchish_net brought Seduction: The Cabaret (Deconstructed) to The Mandrake.

Written by @biginbabylon and @warrenovsky and curated by @scanadully , the performance unfolded through playful provocation, passion and an unconventional take on the art of seduction.

The evening continued at @waeskabar with the launch of Opus Vol I, our new art-inspired cocktail collection, followed by a hypnotic DJ set from @i61i61i61i61i61i61i61i61

An incredible crowd, striking looks and an atmosphere that carried us late into the night.

A special thank you to the @fetchish_net team, our artists, collaborators and everyone who joined us to celebrate art, creativity and Frieze Week.

@friezeofficial after party : We welcome Fetchish, the interdisciplinary collective founded by theatre director and multidisciplinary artist Zlata Mechetina, as they take over The Mandrake’s ground floor with Don Juan Cabaret, an immersive, site-specific reimagining of literature’s most infamous seducer.

Don Juan and his entourage move amongst guests,
drawing the audience into a live lesson in seduction where the line between spectator and participant gradually disappears.

@noam.beer & @themandrakehotel are pleased to present 𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖎𝖚𝖓𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔, a new performance by Françoise curated by Danielle Mezh (@idreamofdidi) for Frieze Week.

📅 Thursday, October 15th | From 7:00 PM
📍 Masha Hari Theatre at The Mandrake

𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖎𝖚𝖓𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖔 is a two-hour durational performance by Françoise. Through live piercing, movement, sound, and ritual, the artist explores the body as a site of transformation, drawing the audience into a meditative space between the subliminal and the transcendent.

Guests are invited to join at 7:00 PM for a complimentary NOAM beverage. The performance begins at 8:00 PM, with its narrative culmination occurring between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM. The work is conceived with fluidity in mind, so audiences are encouraged to come and go throughout the evening.

Visionary Creative Director Maguelone Marcenac Speaks on The Mysteries of The Mandrake

Four green plush sofas and four jagged mirrors reminiscent of the shapes of high-rise apartment buildings, themselves of an unplaceable art deco quality, greet a Mandrake guest as they enter the library. The mirrors are slightly smoky, as if trying to obstruct what they are reflecting, keeping up the mystery of one of London’s most exclusive hotels, The Mandrake. It’s here Maguelone Marcenac sits comfortably forward, speaking with confidence about her creative ethos, that she prefers for The Mandrake to be talked about in whispers rather than yells so the hotel can keep a sense of mystery. This makes an astute philosophy for someone who doesn’t try to make a lot of noise about what they do, and prioritises seamless execution and authenticity above all.

That approach shapes most of her work there. She treats hospitality as a form of storytelling, bringing together art, fashion, music and performance across the hotel in a way that goes beyond the usual idea of luxury. Her programme of residencies, exhibitions and collaborations has included artists and names like Brooke Candy, Coucou Chloé, and Martin Eder. As more hotels try to position themselves as cultural spaces and not just places to stay, Maguelone’s work at The Mandrake is a clear and perhaps the best example of what that actually looks like in practice.

Last week, @bullyache_ joined the Artist-in-Residence programme at @themandrakehotel in pursuit of evolution, where the artists would nurture the next phase of the production ‘A Good Man is Hard to Find’, premiering in London at @sadlerswells_east on 7th-9th May, 2026 (succeeding the global premiere at the Venice Danza Biennale last summer.)

Founded in 2021 by Courtney Deyn and Jacob Samuel, @bullyache_ are known for blending club culture, live music and physical theatre into immersive performance worlds.

The residency offered the public a rare opportunity to witness the creative process behind the next chapter, entitled ‘A Good Man After Dark’, through open studios and guided workshops.

With this groundbreaking presentation, @themandrakehotel once again embraced potential for trailblazing expression and productive exchange, providing artists and enthusiasts with a rare space to experiment and innovate, and championing diversity and artistic expression in the heart of London.

The journey is not over, DM for exclusive details on what comes next for @bullyache_ and @themandrakehotel ✨
