How is real oud made? It starts with a wound in the Aquilaria tree.

عاصفة، حشرة، أو نصل… يدخل فطرٌ إلى الخشب، فتدافع الشجرة عن نفسها براتنجٍ داكن عطِر — لسنوات، وأحياناً لعقود.
A storm, an insect, a blade. A fungus slips in, and the tree fights back with dark, fragrant resin, for years and often decades.
