Cold start. Fast course. 55K of pure grit. 🥶🚂
The thing about a crushed gravel "rails-to-trails" course like Gone Loco is the speed. It’s flat, it’s fast, and that repetitive motion is the ultimate test for friction.
@schaeffermo took on the freezing February temps and the 34-mile grind, and she came out the other side smiling and smooth.
Her verdict on the Friction Prescription gear?
"Loved it and easy to apply!"
When the weather fights you and the miles stack up, you need gear that works as hard as you do.
Congrats on the 55K finish, Morgan! You crushed it. 👊✨

Ouray, oh, Ouray
You are not gentle nor are you considerate
you are not timid nor are you easy
Your intensity breaks one’s ego,
Your peaks exhaust one’s legs

Unapologetically you remain who you are, changing for no one
For one to experience you and your unworldly views…
They must be all in, ready to give and give and give some more.
Oh the patience you require….

You teach the universal lesson of life
Where there is pain, there is grit
Where there is happiness, there is discomfort
Where there are doubts, there is gratitude
No one emotion dominate and isolated,
always a ride of emotions….that are rolled into a too simplified phrase of
“feeling alive”

If one can let go of the fear of failing
The paralyzing need to know how things will end up….
if the all the work and sweat you put into something will be worth
And you just go to be curious of it all, curious of your challenge…
You’ll find no matter where you end up, your enough is enough, and you create memories that guaranteed outcomes could never give you.

Ouray, you have gifted me memories of mountains, friends, and the trail magic of a great community.
You have reminded me of how far I have come, how capable I am.
You have let my inner child dance with joy at the sight of you.

Can’t say I’ll be back for your 100 miler….but who know? 😉
