“The way we decorate ourselves presumes us different, but once we meet each other, we realise that we are the same.”
Akin McKenzie, during "The World is Our Moodboard: Curating Visual Reference"

We kicked off Day 2 of the Production Designers Gathering with "Matters of Taste: Communicating Aesthetics" and "The World is Our Moodboard: Curating Visual Reference," where we looked at how designers make choices, develop their projects’ visual languages and find inspiration out in the world.

The day’s conversations continued with "From the Source: Literary Classics on Screen," "Multilingual Production Design and Sharing the Knowledge, Shaping the Future," which all brought together different design experiences and perspectives into the room.

At the heart of the Gathering is the idea that we are better when we have the chance to learn from one another because design (and film) work is deeply collaborative. By bringing designers together across generations, countries and different stages of their careers, we can create new spaces to share knowledge, ask questions and pass things on!
