The bridal shower of my dreams and the most perfect day. I cannot put into words how lucky I am to be surrounded by such incredible people. HUGE shout out and thank you to my bridesmaids and especially my mom who put her heart and soul into planning this shower. 61 more days until I get to marry the love of my life 🤍🤍🤍

On May 17th, I commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and will serve on Active Duty as a Medical Service Corps officer.

If you had told freshman year Ciara that she would enlist, join ROTC, and commission as an Army officer, she probably would have laughed in your face. I never would have thought that I would be cut out for something like this.

Joining the Army was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Over the past few years, I’ve learned more about myself than I ever expected. I’ve discovered that I’m capable of far more than I gave myself credit for, and I’ve grown as both a person and a leader in ways I never imagined.

The Army has also given me friendships and camaraderie unlike anything I’ve experienced anywhere else. Through ROTC, I met some incredible people who challenged me, supported me, and became like family along the way.

It hasn’t always been easy. In fact, I’ve spent a lot of time pushing or more accurately, shoving myself far outside my comfort zone. But every challenge, every early morning, every late night and every difficult moment has been worth it.

I’m especially grateful that my mom administered my Oath of Office, that both of my parents were there to pin me, and I was able to have my Opa and cousin Bill be my first salutes. It was an honor to share such an important moment with the people who have supported me every step of the way.

Here’s to the next chapter 🍾

𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙆 𝙔𝙊𝙐 to our 2024-25 video group at @mizzouathletics and @mizzou.mp4

The past 2.5 years built up to this moment where we had various students leading sports, intro shoots, media days, etc. and I couldn’t have been more proud of our group from full time to student. Our group was nominated for four SVG awards and three of those four were student-produced videos. I made more of an effort this year to document each of the shoots individually so you can see a little behind the scenes of a few of our nominated videos. Year after year our students have been pushing each other in ways I don’t think they realize where year after year we keep landing our interns in bigger and better jobs out of college. What’s most important to me is the opportunity they each have to spend time with each other. They get to create memories that they’ll take with them forever.

As Coach Cal says at the end there, in my role I try to be a dream fulfiller and there is nothing really better than that.
