I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Christian Jacobs, pictured on the left, for curating FRAGILE with such clarity, depth, and sensitivity.

His vision created a space where the works could unfold as more than images — as reflections on perception, memory, and the fragile condition of our time.

My heartfelt thanks also to Alexander Schlaubitz for his thoughtful and powerful introduction. His words opened the exhibition in a way that truly resonated with the intention behind the work.

This exhibition was not just about painting — it is about how we see, what we remember, and what remains.

Thank you to everyone who shared this moment with us in Munich.

FRAGILE — stepping into an imaginary museum.

Udo Rein doesn’t begin with the canvas.
He begins with movement — walking, seeing, collecting, filming.

Fragments of everyday life: streets, images, memories.
What was real becomes something else —
a painting that feels familiar, yet strangely distant.

His works exist between film and painting,
between document and dream.
They don’t explain — they ask.

In a world of endless images,
these works slow us down.
They don’t say: look quickly.
They say: look again.

As a musician, songwriter, and producer, I was always captivated by the idea that, with enough computing power, the entire world of music could fit inside a single machine.

It felt like magic—limitless creativity powered by speed and precision. This fascination with pushing boundaries is something I recognized early on in Maro Engel. When we were neighbors in Monaco, even as a teenager, Maro was constantly tweaking his moped, determined to squeeze out every bit of speed. It wasn’t just a hobby—it was a passion, a relentless pursuit to see how fast he could go.

Today, Maro takes that same drive to the racetrack, where every millisecond counts, while I focus on creating digital speeds that meet the demands of the modern world—fast, secure, and available everywhere.

Neither of us has ever settled for mediocrity. For Maro, it’s about pushing his car to the edge of its limits; for me, it’s about making sure the digital world keeps pace with our fast-moving lives.

Our paths may be different, but they’re connected by the same fire—a relentless desire for perfection. We share the thrill of setting new goals and reaching higher, always striving for more.

Today, we remain close friends, embarking on a journey with others who share this vision, ready to change the world together.
