The best time of the year in MN is already over this year! 🥺

But it was a fabulous time of 5 different visits to the MN State Fair this year! Lots of memories, snacks, fun!

Can’t wait until 2027!

Had a fabulous day at the #mnstatefair looking at the results of my first-ever entries in the Needlework competition, including a 1st place blue ribbon!

1. Me in front of my blue ribbon stocking 1st out of 10 in Class 177 — Christmas cross stitch item, other than picture.

2. & 3. I used the @charleyharperart Gift Rapt design of raccoons looking in a window and added another raccoon I charted on the toe based on another of his pieces. I futhered his pun by naming it "Gift Raptscallions" that I designed along with the musical notes spelling out "Trashing Through The Snow". I backed it with fabric of the same art.

4. & 5. Me with Moroccan Lanterns on 25 count Granite 1 over 1 by @the_vivsters which won 3rd place out of 37 entries in Class 171 — Picture, framed, over 50 sq. in.-100 sq. in.

6. & 7. Me with @worksbyabc Words Of Wisdom MLK quote that I paraphrased in the MN #iceout display that took up two full display cases. I didn't place in the field of 19 entries in Class 169 — Lettering and/or word focused, framed.

8. Me outside the Creative Activities building where I took pictures and video of all the cross-stitch I could find for 3 hours--Fair #flosstube coming soon!

9. At the Minnesota State Fair Main Gate.

10. & 11. Fairchild and his nephew Fairborne, the gopher (or squirrels as Peter Noone called them) fair mascots walked right in front of us before the Grandstand show.

12. & 15. We had great seats for Herman's Hermits and Tommy James & The Shondells concert at the Grandstand.

13. & 14. @peternoone of Herman's Hermits walked right between me and the person next to me while singing The End Of The World.

16. The Straub store in the Grandstand @schmistopher bought letters from a local Joann Fabrics store and relit and repurposed them.

17. Grand Finale fireworks after the concert.

Minnesota State Fair! Day one for me. Day only for Dylan. We got to eat delicious food, see friends, and dinosaur bones! 🦴

It was a brief afternoon as we could only come for a few hours but we packed in a lot! I can’t wait to go back next weekend :)

Made sure to swing by designer & @projectrunway alum @schmistopher shop at the @mnstatefair this evening before the @bonnieraittofficial concert. Picked up a new hat 🧢 & a pin 🐻🏳️‍🌈 Christopher made my @britneyspears bear a few years ago & it was nice to see him in person. I felt nervous to really chat but he helped us out with the hats. Thank you 🙏 Go check him out if you’re going to the state fair or you can check out his online webstore for more 😉
