THIS IS MAJOR!! 🎺🥁Friends, my nonprofit organization ScholarCHIPS @scholarchipsfunddc is in the 2026 Washington Commanders’ Yearbook! (I forgot to mention there’s a really lovely article in here about Doug Williams and his son)! This is a collectors item! 😍😍😍 One of my dreams is for ScholarCHIPS to become one of the Commanders’ community partners, especially since the team is building a new stadium 🏟️ and relocating back into the heart of Washington, DC, my hometown!

#WhereAreTheyWednesday We all need some positive news and black boy joy on our timelines right about now! ScholarCHIPS scholar, Mr. Amir Hood @hoodrichmirr , who is now a graduating senior at Morehouse College has been moving and shaking! He was recently accepted in not one...but two prestigious programs! He has been accepted as an intern in the Fall 2026 Real Estate Private Equity Virtual Internship Program powered by Project Destined! Where he will receive training and hands-on exposure to real estate private equity, strengthening my understanding of financial modeling, valuation, market research, deal analysis, and investment strategy, and learning how investment decisions are made in real-world environments. In addition, Amir has recently been accepted as one of the 2026 Atlanta Dream WNBA Emerging Dreamers! This four-month fellowship will equip these emerging leaders with skills in leadership, storytelling, public speaking, mentorship, community engagement and the philosophy of nonviolence. #FlashbackFriday I had to dig way back into the archives for this one!I heard that this year is the 20th Anniversary of Black Girls Rock, founded by THE Beverly Bond @djbeverlybond !!! Some of you know in 2012, I had truly incredible opportunity to be featured on Black Girls Rock on BET @bet as a Making A Difference (M.A.D.) Girl, sharing my personal story and mission-driven nonprofit community work by founding @scholarchipsfunddc . I was introduced by the gorgeous @lala 🌟 Years before CNN Heroes and before L’Oreal, it was the Black Girls Rock stage that introduced me to the world!! 🌎 And it was because of this opportunity and exposure that doors opened up for me to share my story in TeenVogue, Black Enterprise and several other incredible, national media platforms! And it wouldn’t have been possible without YOU, my beloved community…because of your daily votes which allowed me to be one of the finalists. 🥹🤗💕 All these years later, and my experience with the Black Girls Rock team was by far one of the best, most exciting and memorable experiences and I am forever grateful 🥹💕 Even years after this moment, many people would still say to me…”You are a Black Girl Who Rocks!!” It was and is so refreshing to see black women celebrated for our inner and outer beauty, our intelligence, our talent, grace, style, and contributions to the culture and to the world! This show, this brand and platform is a part of history! A culture shifter, and truly against the grain in highlighting the beauty and diversity of our culture and uplifting women on a national show, on a globally recognized network and in national media in a positive light…something we still sadly don’t see enough of, and as a result it has become truly transformative and a beloved household name and has inspired millions of girls and women of the diaspora to be their best selves and shine their own lights to transform their communities! I extend my gratitude to you Beverly Bond for having created this incredible platform and movement, for having given me the opportunity, and I congratulate you and your team on 20 years of transforming the culture 🙌🏾🤗 #YazzieSpeaks #BlackGirlsRock #ScholarCHIPS

#WhereAreTheyWednesday 2015 vs. 2026 On this Wonderful Wednesday, we are lifting up one of ScholarCHIPS All-Star OGs Mr. DeRonte Craig @iamderontecraig ! The first picture below is of Mr. Craig when he first became a ScholarCHIPS scholar at our annual awards ceremony. He had just graduated from high school and was heading into his freshman year at Bowie State University! The second picture is of Mr. Craig 11 years later serving as the MC of ScholarCHIPS’ 15th Annual Awards Ceremony! Mr. Craig is truly thriving! A graduate of both Bowie State University and the University of California Irvine, he is an entrepreneur - founder of his own marketing firm Nine27, the author of a ebook, a certified private pilot, a consultant, and fitness enthusiast! At ScholarCHIPS, we are not the typical scholarship program. We are not a one and done. We are invested in our scholars’ and alumni success LONG-TERM! And our alumni return each year to mentor our younger scholars, give back and pay it forward. We are building a powerful tribe of young people who have overcome the challenges of having an incarcerated parent and so much more. And they are utilizing their education, degrees, skills, charisma, and so much more to literally change their communities and the world! To learn more about ScholarCHIPS on how to get involved, how to become a mentor and how to donate/invest in the futures of some incredible, deserving college-bound students, please visit our LinkTree in our IG bio.

My friend Edie Fraser @ediefraser54 published a book several years ago called Do Your Giving While Your Living, filled with anecdotes and wisdom from some of our nation’s most generous people on their philosophies around giving! Growing up, I used to always hear my elders say based on the gospel song... “If I can help somebody along the way, then my living won’t be in vain.” Here are a few precious moments and candids with some of our amazing new scholars from ScholarCHIPS @scholarchipsfunddc 15th Annual Awards Ceremony from July 10, 2026 that I will treasure forever! (I couldn’t fit all of them in one carousel so more to come) 🥰 #PayitForward #YazzieSpeaks #SowGoodSeeds #WeAreBlessedToBeABlessing

#Documentary As a creative and advocate, I not only think about content creation exclusively for social media, but I also strategize around how I can invest in and create content that can translate across media on a grand scale, including television and streaming to educate the masses! EXCITING NEWS!!! I am sssoo proud to share that my nonprofit organization @scholarchipsfunddc (For Children of Incarcerated Parents)’ All Access with Andy Garcia National Mini-Documentary is now LIVE! As of July 20th, the documentary has officially begun distribution to more than 170 participating Public Television stations nationwide. The segment will air as interstitial programming for a full year through 2027. Many thanks to my fellow J.M. Kaplan Fund Social Innovation Prize Alumna sister, Liz Vartkessian, Founder and Executive Director of Advancing Real Change, Inc. (ARC) in Baltimore, mitigation specialist, and author of The Deserving: What the Lives of the Condemned Reveal About American Justice, for partipating in this project as our industry expert! She explained the challenges that children of incarcerated parents face so powerfully! And thanks to ScholarCHIPS’ All-Star Alumni Fellow Althea Guevara for being both our AD on set and sharing her personal story and one of our amazing current scholars Christopher Sullivan for sharing his personal story in this documentary! #ChildrenofIncarceratedParents #Documentary #AllAccesswithAndyGarcia
