My name is Kyle, and joining the GlobalMBA program at the University of North Florida has easily been the best decision of my life. My cohort and I are currently studying abroad in Taipei, Taiwan, and we’ve been here for about a month!
In just four weeks, Taiwan has completely blown me away. Whether we are trying incredible street food at the bustling night markets or exploring the scenic trails just outside the city center, I’ve loved finding the perfect balance between high-energy city life and Taiwan’s beautiful nature.
This program does an amazing job of blending academic growth with real-world exposure. Along with learning from top-tier professors, we’ve had the unique opportunity to visit innovative global businesses like Swoncor Robotech to see how international operations work firsthand.
One of my favorite aspects of this journey is how deeply you get to immerse yourself in new environments. Living in East Asia not only allows us to dive headfirst into Taiwanese culture, but it also makes it incredibly easy to travel to neighboring countries and experience theirs as well.
Between the unforgettable travels, the endless delicious food, and the late-night study sessions, the absolute best part of this journey has been the lifelong friends I’ve made. This program has truly shifted my perspective on the world and has been the experience of a lifetime!

My name is Edon, and I’m a GlobalMBA student at the University of North Florida currently studying abroad in Taiwan at Soochow University.

Although I’ve only been here for about eight days, Taiwan has already made a huge impression on me. From exploring night markets and visiting beautiful waterfalls to trying local favorites like beef noodle soup, every day has brought something new.

One thing that has stood out to me is how easy it is to experience so much in such a short amount of time. Whether it’s navigating Taipei’s MRT system, discovering new foods, or meeting people from different backgrounds, I’ve constantly found myself learning both inside and outside the classroom.

What makes this experience even more unique is that Taiwan is the third country I’ve studied in through my GlobalMBA journey, following semesters in Germany and Poland. Each country has challenged me in different ways and given me a new perspective on culture, business, and everyday life.

My biggest advice for anyone considering studying abroad is simple: say yes. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Some of the most rewarding experiences come from being willing to try something unfamiliar.

I’m excited to continue exploring Taiwan and see what the next few weeks bring!
