What a blessing and an honor to be cast as Clara in Sacramento Ballet’s Nutcracker. But getting the role is just part of it. Now I need to work extra hard to show how grateful I am to be chosen and to be the best Clara ever. Thank you so much for this opportunity. @schoolofsacballet @sacballet #nutcracker #clara #ballet #roleofalifetime #balletjourney

This weekend, 300 local children and youth auditioned for the opportunity to join our professional company onstage in Nutcracker!

We were especially thrilled to welcome our new Artistic Director, Tiit Helimets, to callbacks. There is something especially powerful about ending an audition by dancing together, and it was beautiful to watch our students share this moment with Tiit.

A closing Port de Bras is more than a tradition. It is a moment to recognize one another and to honor the art form we share and love.

For these young dancers, this season marks the beginning of a demanding and extraordinary journey. We are so excited to welcome them into the rehearsal process and to see what they will bring to the stage.

Thank you to every dancer who showed up, worked hard, took a risk, and shared their artistry with us! And thank you, Tiit, for leading us into this next chapter. We are just getting started!

This summer, many of our @epacdance and @idahoregionalballet dancers continued their training with outstanding schools and companies across the country, expanding their artistry, learning from world-class faculty, and representing our community with excellence.

Several of these opportunities were made possible through scholarships earned at The Ballet Alliance 2026 Festival, a testament to the hard work and dedication these dancers bring to the studio every day. We thank The @balletalliance for their support of these young artists.

Congratulations to:
Stella DeFonte – Sacramento Ballet (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship) • Lillian Green – (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship) • Brielle Jones – Ballet West (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship) • Livia Kendrick – Pacific Northwest Ballet • Cade Rishel – Houston Ballet (Scholarship) • Kellen Rishel – Pacific Northwest Ballet (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship + Additional Scholarship) • Charlotte Rogers – University of Utah (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship) • Karree Sanders – Texas Ballet Theatre (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship) • Annalie Starr – Kansas City Ballet (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship) • Cali Whittemore – Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet & Utah Met (The Ballet Alliance Scholarship) • Amber Branco – Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet • Grace Godfrey – Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet • Lucy McNutt – Boise Ballet Academy • Milena Myers – Ballet Idaho • Audrey Parker –Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet

A huge thank you to Leah Bueno of @performancehealthandrehab for joining us at both our Senior and Junior Summer Intensives to lead injury prevention seminars!

Leah has transformed her experience as a professional dancer into an incredible career as a Sports Rehab Osteopath and Dance Rehabilitation Specialist, but what makes her work truly special is her passion for education. She takes the time to empower dancers with practical, evidence-based information that helps them better understand their bodies, prevent injury, and support longevity in their training.

Thank you, Leah, for sharing your knowledge, experience, and passion with our students.
