![Major milestone reached! 🏗️⚙️
Big steps forward on our 2DOF motion rig! The central universal joint is now fully mounted, securely linking the base frame to the upper moving platform. We already did a quick manual test by moving the platform by hand, and the pivot works perfectly—you’ll see it in action in our next video! 🎥
Plus, the second Nanotec motor finally arrived and is officially installed! With both motors now in place on the drive setup, we are one massive step closer to testing the full motorized motion. 🏎️💨
Next up: installing the rod ends and pushrods to make the final mechanical connection between the motor shafts and the upper platform! 🔧

Safety first ⚡🛑
Huge progress on the electrical setup! We’ve successfully integrated the emergency stop system (E-stop), dedicated ON/OFF push buttons, and circuit breakers to ensure our 2DOF SimRig operates completely safely. 🔌
Keep in mind that this is currently just a provisional test bench setup—once everything is fully tested and working, all components will be transferred into a heavy-duty control cabinet from @schrackforstudents! 🗄️⚡
Stay tuned—in our next video, you’ll see our initial power & safety test in action! 🎥

Nothing beats powering on the system and seeing the whole setup light up for the first time! Sitting in the seat and gripping the illuminated @the_realvrs R295 Steering Wheel mounted to the DFP15 Direct Drive Wheelbase feels surreal.
We’re still finalizing the motion platform, but once it’s up and running, pairing physical motion with the ultra-detailed Force Feedback from @the_realvrs is going to take immersion to a whole new level! 🚀”

The core of 2DOF motion! ⚙️
Here’s a close-up of our central pivot point! Using a heavy-duty universal joint mounted on custom aluminum adapter plates, it connects our base frame directly to the upper seat motion platform. This setup allows precise pitch and roll movement while effortlessly handling the driver’s weight. 📐🏎️

Muscle behind the motion! 💪🏼⚙️
A close-up look at our custom motor drive setup! Equipped with heavy-duty mounting plates and flange bearings.
You can see our 3D-printed prototype crank lever with the lower rod end installed. A pushrod will attach here with a second rod end on top, linking straight to the motion platform to convert the motor’s torque into physical motion. 🔄
We’re currently using these printed levers for test fitting before replacing them with custom aluminum ones very soon!

Powering our 2DOF-SimRig! ⚡🔌
Behind every motion rig is a lot of hidden control electronics! We’re currently wiring up the provisional main control board, installing mounting rails, circuit breakers, and power supplies to run our actuators safely and smoothly.
Precision engineering isn’t just about structural metal—clean wiring and reliable power distribution are half the work! 🛠️
