There is still time to catch my ICA show!! @icasandiego 🐉❤️‍🔥 I am around and have really loved the way this exhibition has become a space to connect with friends, family, neighbors, community members, fellow artists, and strangers. This work is simultaneously incredibly personal and a way to examine a larger collective history; it truly means so much when folks see the show and spend time with it. 🙇🏻‍♂️ This show has been shaped by so many folks at so many stages, so this post is actually one of gratitude rather than sharing the work itself:

My practice and research became so rich and deep during this time through your mentorship, and the confidence I have moving forward was not something I expected! The chance to work with you was one of the reasons I applied. I’m glad we were able to pivot through every change to create an exhibition we both felt proud of. Thank you for the ways you champion artists and don’t waver on your ethos. @jordan_karney_chaim

one week ago today was the opening of 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆: 𝑴𝒂𝒚-𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒛 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒔 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓. I have been marinating in all of the feelings (and napping) the past week and I am just so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing team, and to have work that I have been making steadily in my garage connect so clearly with May-Ling’s work, and for that to be received so well.

Thank you to Christie for seeing the vision before we could! Thank you May-Ling for leaning in and helping steward such a ~real~ connection across time zones the past year. Thank you San Diego pals for making me feel like I am still a part of the community <3 Thank you Liam and Emma for coming down from LA and thank you My for remembering to take pictures (I wish I had a photo of you!) and thank you Jules for crating my work so snug and thank you Janelle for literally everything and thank you to Nate and universe for the kismet that our openings were the same weekend. Thanks you to the rest of the Athenaeum team and literally everyone else that came or gave me a hug facetimed studio visited with me the past year!
