The Black Keys | Halifax, NS | October 14, 2026

My introduction to The Black Keys came years ago while working in Toronto and consuming everything that CFNY 102.1 The Edge was putting on the airwaves. Back then, many of the station’s emerging artists found their way onto my iPod Shuffle as quickly downloaded MP3s, soundtracking commutes, late nights, and long workdays. Some faded with time. Others, like The Black Keys, continued to grow, building careers that transformed them from promising new acts into one of the defining rock bands of their generation.

When the Akron, Ohio duo brought their Peaches ‘n Kream World Tour ‘26 to Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre on October 14, East Coast DNA was there in the photo pit to document the performance.

There’s something uniquely rewarding about photographing artists whose music has followed you through different chapters of life. As Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney launched into “Heavy Soul,” it was difficult not to reflect on how many years had passed since I first discovered the band.

The Black Keys delivered a set that drew from across their catalogue, featuring favourites including “Fever,” “Gold on the Ceiling,” “Howlin’ for You,” “Lo/Hi,” “Weight of Love,” and “Tighten Up.” Along the way, the band also paid tribute to some of their influences through covers that showcased the blues, soul, garage rock, and proto-punk roots that have always been at the heart of their sound.

One of the night’s biggest surprises came with a performance of The Stooges’ “I Wanna Be Your Dog.” As a longtime fan, that unexpected nod to Iggy Pop’s legendary band became one of the evening’s standout moments and a personal highlight from the pit.

The show concluded with an encore featuring “Little Black Submarines” and “Lonely Boy,” sending Halifax fans home after a night that celebrated both the band’s history and the music that helped shape it.

Jeremie Albino | Halifax, NS | October 14, 2026

Canadian singer-songwriter Jeremie Albino and his full band took the stage at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on October 14, opening the night for The Black Keys.

For those discovering Albino on this tour, there’s a deeper connection between the artists than simply sharing a bill.

Albino’s sound draws from classic country storytelling, old-school R&B, early rock ’n’ roll and southern soul. His career began busking on the streets of Toronto and has grown into increasingly larger audiences across Canada and the United States.

Dan Auerbach produced Albino’s fourth solo album, Our Time in the Sun, which became Albino’s Easy Eye Sound debut when it was released in 2024. Easy Eye Sound, Auerbach’s Nashville-based label and studio, provides another direct connection between Albino and The Black Keys.

That Easy Eye Sound connection was hard to miss around the Halifax stop. The branding appeared throughout the touring production, from merch and stickers to the graphics on the wrapped tour trucks outside the venue.
Seeing Jeremie Albino and his band open for The Black Keys, with Dan Auerbach headlining later in the night, gave some visible context to a musical relationship that has already made its way onto record.

East Coast DNA was in the photo pit to capture Jeremie Albino and his band live in Halifax.

I've got tickets to see Styx this week, however this album is not included in the setlist on the current tour. All good as I can also rock out to Mr Roboto and Blue Collared Man!

@theblackkeys last night, October 14 2026, shot for @halifamous.ca at @scotiabankctrhalifax 🤘🏻🎸

The energy The Black Keys brought to Halifax last night was unmatched. It was a dream of mine to see The Black Keys live, an even bigger dream to have the opportunity to take photos of them. An absolutely surreal experience and a night I will never forget. Thank you so much to @halifamous.ca for partnering with me and letting me cover this event on their behalf.

Also, a huge thank you to the amazing staff at Scotiabank Centre, as well as the other photographers who also shot last night for being so hospitable towards me. My first time doing media at this venue and I learned so much!
