@glasgowcc - Just think of all the generations of future printmakers, artists and cultural icons you are putting at risk with this decision. This city is fuelled by artists and creative people. These shortsighted decisions will have ramifications that last decades. Do the right thing - #savetrongate103

'Work as if you live in the early days of a better world.'

Words to live by.

Found this scrap of paper that Alasdair Gray wrote whilst emptying a drawer today- a strange coincidence as it is the anniversary of his passing today.

Scott and I would often work on prints with Alasdair at his home in his final years, my big lurcher Leo sprawled on the carpet, listening.

He is much missed, never forgotten.

If you haven't already, check out @thealasdairgrayarchive online and in-person at the Whisky Bond, where the amazing @sorchadallas
Is custodian of Alasdair's works and legacy.

You can view all the works we made with Alasdair over 40 years, including 'Omnium Gatherum', the screenprint pictured, on @glasgowprintstudio website.

Join us tonight, 6-8pm for the launch of Forevermore.

Created by Bobby Bluebell (aka Robert Hodgens) of the legendary Scottish band The Bluebells, this limited-edition embossed screenprint marks the launch of Call & Response - a new series bringing together some of Scotland’s most iconic creatives to explore the art of printmaking.

'Forvermore' brings together elements from The Bluebells’ debut album Sisters (1984) and their forthcoming album This Is The Bluebells, set for release in spring 2026.

“It was the title of our first record release (Forevermore), so it just felt right." - Bobby Bluebell

The print is hand-printed at Glasgow Print Studio by master printmakers Scott Campbell and Alistair Gow, produced in a limited edition of 50, and priced at £200.

Join us tonight, Thursday, 6 November, 6–8pm, for the soft launch at Glasgow Print Studio and be among the first to see the work in person, meet some of the participants, and hear more about what’s still to come as the series unfolds. All welcome!

Two dynamic screenprints by Scott Campbell, currently on display as part of 'Start With Something; Contemporary Abstraction'.

Exhibition is open Tuesday - Saturday 10am-5:30pm, free and fully accessible. Until 28th June.

Scott Campbell trained at Glasgow School of Art and Central St Martins, beginning his printmaking career as a printer at Advanced Graphics London and later working as Master Printer of Screenprint at Glasgow Print Studio, a position held for over 20 years.

His pieces are often abstract or suggest landscape qualities. They stimulate the eye but have a serenity about them. “My work evolves with no matrix but with multi-layered surfaces blended to allow light and form to develop. The unpredictability of blending dictates how I approach each piece, which I find a welcome challenge.” A strong technical grounding should not constrain an artist but enhance his practice. “Printmaking is full of complex processes which can make it more challenging to produce spontaneous prints. This is something I try to give license to when making my work.”

All work available to view and purchase via the link in our bio.
