What does it take to completely reinvent your life? HE CHANGED CAREERS AFTER 32 YEARS!

For 32 years, Michael Monroe practiced nurse anesthesia, eventually teaching pediatric anesthesia at the university level.

But art had always been there. His mother was an artist. He grew up surrounded by creativity. And eventually, the career he had built began giving way to the career he had always carried with him.

From medicine to becoming a professional artist, Michael’s journey is a reminder that your first career doesn’t have to be your final chapter. 🎙️ Michael Monroe on The Emerging Artist Podcast.

Follow @emergingartistpodcast for the full conversation and more stories about the journey behind the work. Again, big thanks to @bonitarejuvenation_

When we talk about success we tend to only focus on the flashing lights and forget what’s behind that curtain.

The uncertainty. The ideas that didn’t work. The relationships we lose along the way. The decisions that changed us. And, more than anything, the decision to keep going.

That’s what The Emerging Artist Podcast is about.

We sit down with artists, entrepreneurs, creators, business owners, innovators and creative thinkers to talk about the part behind the finished product.

Because “emerging” has very little to do with being new but being who you are meant to be. Always learning. Always figuring things out. Always creating. Always becoming.

🎙️ The Emerging Artist Podcast New conversations coming soon.

How do you get more referrals? It starts with something simple: relationships.

In this conversation from The Emerging Artist Podcast, Scott and Shiree talk about something that often gets overlooked in business: genuine relationships create opportunities.

Sometimes growth isn’t about reaching more people. It’s about building stronger relationships with the people already around you, and giving them a reason to remember you, trust you, and recommend you.

Can you really make a career as an artist? Michael Monroe’s answer is simple: “Yes, you can.” But his journey was anything but overnight.

Before becoming a full-time artist, Michael spent 32 years as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, working with children, teaching pediatric anesthesia and building a career in medicine, all while continuing to paint.

Eventually, one career began giving way to another. Not through one dramatic breakthrough, but through years of creating, experimenting, building relationships and believing there was something more ahead.

“It’s not easy being a professional artist, but it can be done.”

From medicine to painting, music and beyond, Michael’s story is one of the conversations we’re excited to share on The Emerging Artist Podcast.

🎙️ Episodes launching soon. Follow @emergingartistpodcast and come with us behind the story.

Special thanks to @anthonychiarolanza and @bonitarejuvenation for allowing us to use their space as the studio du jour.

Some of the most interesting stories in Naples are hiding in plain sight.

For more than 31 years, Gene Ur and his family have built American Paint Supplies Inc. from a local independent paint business into something much bigger, while staying true to what made it work: listening to customers, building relationships, and never losing the creative side of the business.

“If you’re not growing, you’re dying.”

That philosophy runs through Gene’s story, from starting the company with his father and brother to expanding into specialty and decorative finishes, teaching creative classes, and building relationships throughout the industry.

But there’s another side of Gene you might not expect. 👀

Here’s a little BTS from our conversation. Follow @emergingartistpodcast and stay tuned, the first episodes are coming soon. 🎙️
