Leading up to our wedding, I was afraid that marriage would be a burden. That I would be dragging Bry and I down, Specifically in finances. As I embraced the uncertainty, I learned that Bryana is my greatest super power.
She is an ambitious creative who compliments me. The only reason we have accomplished so much is because of her attention to detail, logical reasoning and consistency in asking “how will we do it?”Marriage is not just choosing someone to live with. It is choosing a partner. It’s building your team to fight for dreams. It may have looked different than we thought, but in our seven years of marriage we have accomplished exactly what we set out to do. Paid off our debt, bought a house, started our first rental property and are raising one crazy, cute, rock n roll girl. Some of the things we have accomplished seem unreal to me. But we were able to accomplish them because Bryana is my superpower.

Over the last few months, I haven’t had enough time to really spend time reflecting on much change has happened this year. Honestly, I don’t think I actually spent anytime processing my wedding day. Finalizing my vows, celebrating with my friends, dealing with car issues, crying the whole day because I’m sentimental, or just dancing the night away——it all ended as quickly as it started.

But as I took some time today to look through my wedding pictures again, really with no intent of posting any more (even though that’s what I’m doing right now), I recognized how much joy there was that day.

Joys that I have access to right now even though it’s easy for me to think that the level of joy I experienced is gifted by special occasions.

I struggle to be joyful but here’s what joy I have in my hands today that I saw beautifully on my wedding day:

-the joy of immeasurable love shared with Rachel who’s beautify is equally immeasurable
-the joy of having two families come together and happily sending off the forming of a new family
-the joy of having friends surround me and supporting me by catching last minute flights or leaving it all on the dance floor
-the joy of happy tears
-the joy of…the list can go on and I hope that anyone who is reading this will begin to create their own list of joys and look at that list often.

Sometimes it can be hard to find joy, but it sure is worth finding.
