May 1st, 1996. My twin and I, at our first protest in Paris, organized by trade unions, bringing together anti-racist organizations and groups supporting immigrants to stand against the xenophobic Le Pen party.
900,000 people took to the streets that day. I was 10 years old.

The demonstration helped keep anti-racism and immigrants’ rights visible in public debate and forced the government to withdraw its proposed pension reforms to public-sector workers covered. I was 10 years old, witnessing a moment in French history when collective action showed that people could stand together and force political change. ❤️🇫🇷✊🏽

Happy 84th birthday, Jean-Luc. ❤️
What a beautiful week celebrating you.

I first met JLP when I was 14 years old, backstage, violin in hand, waiting to meet with my hero. I could never have imagined that this encounter would become one of the most important relationships of my life.

For more than 25 years, he has been my mentor, my friend, my reference for my first job 😂😅❤️😭

You were there in the beautiful moments, difficult moments, celebrations, disappointments, and some of the hardest chapters of my life. You have always been there and even that day when you called me out of the blue to ask me if i was able to come to soundcheck for your concert with Chick Corea and hold your blue violin while you walked around the venue to check how it sounded while I was trying to play it but zoned out because I was so afraid 😂

You supported me when I moved to the United States, helped me with my first visa, supported my first album, and stood behind me at important moments in my career, including my very first university position.

You have wished me a happy birthday every year since I was 14. That kind of presence is something I will never take for granted.

Thank you, Jean-Luc, for your music, your generosity, your friendship, your guidance, and for always being there.

I love you. ❤️ Happy 84th birthday, Jean-Luc. 🎻🎂

John Coltrane “Resolution.”
His piece about commitment, movement, and spiritual resolve, from the album A Love Supreme.

100 years after Coltrane’s birth, his music is well alive
Here’s my attempt to embody his “Resolution.” 🎻

They told us we’d be floating on stage. I didn’t know they meant it literally. 😅❤️

A surreal day in Aspen, Colorado, creating the soundtrack for a new chapter for @hermes in Colorado, with my childhood friend @yvonnick.prene on harmonica and @novazaii on drums

A custom-built mirror stage, floating in the middle of a lake. We took a small boat to get there, then spent the show drifting with the wind.

One of the most atypical location/situation for a concert I’ve ever played…so far
