When it comes to strays, one needs to be careful when offering assistance. Some may be overjoyed for the help, while others might be a bit apprehensive and need a bit of coaxing. Then there’s those merely looking to take advantage of your kindness… If you’re not observant, you might realize this when it’s too late.

Update: We got some really good news. Biopsy is back and my cancer did not spread. What a roller coaster few months it has been.

Even though this procedure and the post operative ileus was worse than childbirth (and I’ve had 5 natural labors) I still recognize I got off easy. No chemo or further treatment.

I went home day 3 after surgery and got to be home for Ben’s birthday but got readmitted the next day because the pain in my abdomen and nausea was so bad.

Getting the NG tube was probably one of the worst experiences, or maybe spending 2 days in the ER overflow ? 😅no the NG tube was the worst.

But I had a lot of time to think as I walked the halls (and walked and walked) through the nights to try and wake my system back up. Surgery on your bowels tends to make them finicky. An extra 6 days in the hospital.

Despite my complaints it’s not hard to see all the blessings. I FELT the prayers for me and my family and was so grateful for them because I had many moments when I had no words for my own prayers.

Thank you @scottwalburger for being here to help take care of everything, I don’t know what we would have done without you!

Thanks friends for the love and support- I don’t know why we got this result when many don’t- your stories have helped me keep perspective!

Now just trying to be a little more patient as I finish this healing process.

2025 was a year to remember. Countless miles hiking and backpacking, running down a mountain from a wildfire, horse shows and blue ribbons with Phil, Katara’s first Q in agility, Kaia’s CGC, TKN, RATI, and Q in barn hunt, experiencing hozier, Katara’s small film project, precious moments with friends, Katara’s therapy dog certification, heart breaks rarely spoken about, and the memorable moments that make life worth living 💙 here’s to the hopes of 2026 🤞🏼

They went back on different days, but as of right now they’re all back in school. Except Scott, who has graduated and is now the hard knock school of adulting (and working on his next film 🤗)
