I was filled with so much pride as I watched ALL episodes of Southern Fried Rice with nearly 200 of our supporters! Hearing the laughs, the gasps, and all the other commentary, was so very rewarding. Thank you all for joining us to watch and chat about our art! 🙏🏾🥹

As a storyteller, my superpower is my ability to identify many different points of views and to explore them relentlessly, like a scientist in discovery. I enjoy dissecting and displaying the human experience in unique ways that allow me to show fresh perspectives and multidimensional characters. That’s always my goal and I’m so happy I was able to present that again, with #SouthernFriedRice. As Ryan Coogler said (last slide) “Art is incredibly important in terms of defining what it means to be human and helping people perform the practice of empathy” ❤️💙

Thank you all for your continuous support of @damnwriteoriginals throughout all of these years! Cheers to MANY MORE to come!

I’m doing my best to stay present and allowing myself to think and get excited about the future without WORRYING about it.

Bc babyyyy — I. Will. Worry.

One of my affirmations as of late has been: God is going to gift me the desires He’s placed on my heart.

Because I’m clear — these are not things I just made up because I wanted to, the Man gifted these gifts, ideas and visions to me.

Now — I can’t een lie, I wish He would hurry up bc I have things I’m tryna do but as always He reminds me — HIS timing. Not at all mine honey.🥹

Cheers to enjoying life in the between!

Transparency post 🫣👉🏾👈🏾 Last week we wrapped production on my first project since the WGA/SAG strikes . Two weeks before that I was cleaning toilets at the restaurant I worked at. Three months before that I was working two jobs, 7 days a week & sometimes pulling doubles to make ends meet. I was overworked, financially struggling, depressed and desperately wishing I had the frisson that is running a full production from start to finish. When I recount this time in my life I always say, the pandemic didn’t break me , professionally, but the strikes sure did! In my 5 years in LA I’ve prided myself on my steady rise professionally and personally, and had been diligent about my financial independence in a city where poverty is ever present.

It’s not lost on my the juxtaposition of these life moments, or the season I’m in of being supported by others and embracing every step in my journey of life. 7 months of not living in my passion/desired career was enough for me to deeply appreciate how privileged I am to love what I do, be paid to do what I love and be surrounded by so many others who trust & believe in the stories we create at @damnwriteoriginals . And our partners at @keytvnetwork

Even through frustrations , hurdles, long days on set..I LOVE PRODUCING. I find joy and satisfaction in leading teams of creatives, tackling logistics, feeding my cast/crew bomb meal (IYKYK 😉) watching a multitude of moving parts come together and incredibly talented people work to create magic on screen. ✨This project stretched me REAL good, muscle memory of production isn’t easy to bounce back into but we here! 😮‍💨😅 I’m ecstatic and thankful that this was my first project back in the game! Cause who better to do it with than my DAMN TEAM! 💜🖤 S/O to my mom for the custom director’s chair 🥰 That’s the end of my Ted Talk. #Nepotista is in post production - stay tuned!! 🙏🏾
