Behind every great company is someone who saw it early.

We’re excited to welcome Elizabeth Weil, Founder & GP at @scribblevc, to the Istanbul Ignited by Slush’D stage.

An early Twitter executive who helped scale the company from 50 to 3,000 people, Elizabeth brings deep operator experience to investing in the next generation of AI-native companies. She was also a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz as the firm scaled and was most recently a Managing Director at 137 Ventures.

Through Scribble, she’s backed companies including Whatnot, Baseten, Hadrian, Stoke, Periodic Labs, and Applied Compute.

Builders backing builders. That’s the conversation we’re bringing to Istanbul.

AI dating startup Ditto has successfully raised $9.2 million in seed funding to disrupt the traditional dating app landscape by replacing swiping with AI-driven date planning. Led by Peak XV Partners with participation from firms like Gradient and Scribble Ventures, the funding will fuel the startup’s expansion beyond its current California campus footprint. Founded by two UC Berkeley dropouts, including CEO Allen Wang, Ditto operates via iMessage to match college students and coordinate “in-real-life” dates at specific times and locations. By focusing on Gen Z’s fatigue with endless digital chatting, the company reports that roughly 20% of its matches result in actual dates, a significant jump over traditional platforms.
