The History and Poli-Sci department staff teamed up last Friday to face off History and Poli-Sci students at our annual Wiffle Ball Grudge Match! Although the students put up a good fight, the professors walked away victorious! ⚾️🏆🧢

Huge thank you to everyone who showed up to celebrate the end of the semester! From everyone in the History and Political Science departments, to the History Club, we wish you all a great summer and good luck on finals!

🚨NEW LOCATION🚨 Over the semester, we’ve been very focused on highlighting the 92nd State House Representative election and the importance of local politics for our members/campus. Where some people see apathetic young voters, we see an opportunity to educate our peers on the intricacies of the local democratic process. We’ve had the pleasure of having Pat Dillon, Justin Farmer, and Eli Sabin to our meetings to speak on their experiences on not only being a part of local politics but as well as their experience running for office.

It will be held on May 8th, 2026 at 6:30 PM in the SCSU School of Business 201. Guests are welcome to park in Lot 5 and Wintergreen Garage.

We encourage attendees to RSVP so we can accurately order the appropriate amount of food. We will also have a Zoom and Instagram Live available for community members unable to make it in person.

Last week, in my role as Vice President of the Southern Connecticut State University College Democrats, I was glad to host alongside the SCSU Dems executive board officers, SCSU’s Hamden Mayoral Candidate Forum.

We had a good mixture of SCSU students, Hamden community members, and others in attendance. I would like to extend a thank you to all who participated and helped make the forum possible.

The Wheelhouse is new tomorrow with a look at various political perspectives. We’ll start the show with some fresh content on the erosion of trust in government in America, then re-visit some previously recorded testimony to help listeners understand how our experiences shape our views. Tune in at 9am — toss your thoughts on the show here or email wheelhouse@ctpublic.org. #thewheelhousect #ctpolitics #connecticut #uspolitics #perspective #usgovernment #diversity #age #generations #generationalpolitics #civics #kidsandpolitics
