BITCHFEST post 3!

I think this set had some of the best lighting shots, hands down. The smoke did make shots of the drummer a little bit harder for me, but I think I made it work.

San Francisco, CA, July 29, 2026

Artist M.T. Giddings and their three children (Golden 13, Juju 10, and Ocean 5 [Note: Ocean has cerebral palsy]) must sell their art car, The Maxi, by 4pm tomorrow (Thursday, 7/30), before they fly back to South Bend, Indiana. They will be hanging out at Whiz Burgers Drive-In (700 S Van Ness Ave) from 11AM-4PM tomorrow and will sell the car at 4pm to the person who makes the best offer. Funds raised from the sale of the car will support a number of creative and charitable community projects they run out of their home.

Thank you all for your love and support. We are very ready to come home. 🧡

2025, struggles aside, was a big year for Peel. Though we’re drowning in scary numbers trying to figure out how to keep the gallery alive with our next 20% rent increase in July, we wanted to focus on and celebrate the positive numbers from 2025. ❤️🍊

⭐️ The gallery turned 5 years old in 2025!
⭐️ We had 15 exhibitions!
⭐️ 229 artists showed their work at Peel!
⭐️ We hosted 50 workshops taught by 9 teaching artists!
⭐️ 312 people attended these workshops!
⭐️ We offered 3 internships!
⭐️ We participated in 9 art markets offsite!
🐶 We fostered 6 pup interns!

A huge thank you to our artists, supporters, members, interns, and friends for keeping Peel alive and for adopting those pup interns!

Community is everything.

Hope to see you tonight for the first 2nd Friday Art Walk of the year! 🎈🍊

yooo #artstigators , XL thank you to this week’s takeover, Heather Anne (she/her) @ithinkitsheatheranne @observableuniverse919, and her NC faves…🔦

🎙️ “Anything that is made from a place of curiosity and compassion is inspiring to me.

These days, things that are artful, but posture as resolute or certain of ANYTHING, feels like a snake eating its own tail. When questions and uncertainty are reflected in an artist’s work, I’m all in.

I love to catch a messy and incomplete glimpse at someone’s lived experience. I am especially interested in the way that creative practices emerge to keep us afloat while we are treading in choppy waves.

Everything is temporary, do it sad, make it weird.

3 (of SO many) NC Artists that are particularly inspiring to me in right now are:
Skully Gustafson (@skullygoo)
Abigail Ruth (@abeemca)
Monet Noelle Marshall (@monetisart)
📸 Monet portrait by @darecoulter

I love how these artists lean in and report back from the uncertain and experimental corners of their imaginations. Each of them, inviting us into a process of evolution, resistance and survival. <3”

💌 Thank you, Heather Anne, for the honor of sharing your artstigatin’ with #artstigators
