I’m excited and deeply grateful to share that Young Lions premieres this Thursday, October 22, on KPBS and will be available to stream nationwide on PBS! 🎺🎬

Directed by Mark Abbott and Willie O’Bryan, this documentary follows my journey in jazz and the work that means so much to me today. Helping the next generation find their voice through Young Lions Jazz Conservatory.

Seeing this story shared is humbling. I think of the musicians and mentors who took the time to teach me, welcomed me onto the bandstand, and gave me a chance. Being able to pass those lessons along and watch our students grow into their own artistry is one of the greatest gifts of my life.

My heartfelt thanks to the filmmakers, KPBS, our students, families, teachers, and everyone who continues to support this music and our Young Lions community. You are all part of this story.

I hope you’ll tune in and share this special moment with us!

📺 Thursday, October 22 — KPBS
🎶 Stream nationwide at PBS.org or on the PBS app.
